Loved this book
I've seen the movies a plethora of times. I'm not a fan of the final movie as its really a story killer. But if you've seen the first 2 these books really make the movies a whole lot better. If your interest in these movies was solely because of Michael and Selene this book goes far more in depth into how they really feel for each other rather then what we see in the movies.

Underworld book 1 review
I loved this book, I really enjoy the Underworld series. Greg Cox did an amazing job explainig more to the story that the movies did not. I found some of the story to be in the characters mind, which obvioously couldn't be portrayed in the movies. Any fan of the series should definitely read the other books, also by Cox, even the 2004 prequel Blood Enemy, though it differed from Rise of the Lycans, it was a very good read. I definitely do not regret buying and reading this book.

Underworld Novelization Review
I really enjoy the movie this book is based from, but although a movie is good for having a third persons view of the events I find that a book is far more detailed from a first person point of view. Whereas with a movie you are outside watching the character with a movie novelization you read and actually feel as though you become that character. With this book I was not disappointed: the level of detail from each characters view, the visualization of events I felt from both the movie and reading the words, and also a few scenes that I had not even seen in the movie itself felt so real it was like I was seeing this movie in theaters for the first time. All in all I feel this book is a perfect complement to the movie in everyway. The only real complaint I have is there were a few minor typos in the book itself and some slightly smeared words.

Great book
I saw the movie first but the book is much better. More details of the characters are revealed.

Beneath The Underworld
Couldn't help but noticing the striking clues that Selene on the balcony is Kate Beckinsale and a rugged looked young American doctor named Michael Corvin is Scott Speedman.I bought this book after I have seen the movie. The reason is a mix of celebrity-crush and curiousity for some unexplained stuffs due to pack of action thriller rules so the silver screen doesn't provide a space to put the thought of its characters. For example, by reading this book I know how this American Corvin could end up in an always raining city somewhere in Eastern Europe. Who actually the woman in the photographs and a bit of the fate of the girl that Corvin tries to save in subway (including her name), also how Selene muses her amazement on this `Samaritan youth' (a longer scene in the pier when she have to slid her body over onto Corvin). A space for Kraven's narcisstic behaviour and a look inside others's thought proven to help shape their characters. As the novelization this book faithfully follows the story in the movie and adds light to some unclear storyline. As in the movie the book tells how this Corvin becomes a key in the long feud between the werewolves and the vampires. Lucian, an old werewolf tries at any cost to unlock and eventually brings this feud to an end and Selene, in the twist of fate, bullets, and tyres, unintendedly, completes Lucian's mission, and solved her blurred past, and as a bonus: got Corvin as an object of her affection.Entertaining. This book can shoo your pain away in the trafic jam or long line queue, or in a jiggling chair of train. After all, it is not every night you have a chance to run into a leather-clad babe in subway.

Almost shot for shot jusy like the movie
This was exactly what I was looking for! I love the Underworld movie series and wanted a book version to dive a little deeper into the characters. The book is almost shot for shot just like the movie but the inner monologues that the book provodes for each character are inciteful.

An appealing read
I went into reading this book long after seeing the movie. I must admit, it was not completely different than the movie, however I enjoyed the book more than the movie. I felt much closer to the characters than I did in the move, in addition, I felt the book answered some questions which I had after seeing the movie. If you enjoyed the movie, I definitely recommend reading the book. If you haven't seen the movie, read the book for fun, but only if you like action. A great fast read.

It would have been a great book if it had arrived but sadly Royal Mail lost the package but the company kept in contact with me and have been great throughout and issued me a refund when the book didn't appear. I highly recommend Greener Books UK
