Kinetic Glasslock Series 17-Ounce Square Glass Food Storage Container With Locking Lid

I got tired of using plastic containers to take my lunch in. They got gross looking and stained no matter how well I took care of them, and I was starting to worry about reusing the plastic containers so much. I also figured I would be more motivated to take care of a nice glass container and it would last me much longer. I use it almost entirely for lunches so it gets a lot of wear and tear.After doing some research on the interwebs on safety and durability, and reading quite a few reviews, I decided to try out Glasslock and I was not disappointed. This size (17 oz) is perfect for taking leftover spaghetti, soup, rice, etc. It fits a regular sized bagel perfectly with a little headroom and ~7 strawberries, just to give you an idea of the size. It's probably not big enough to be used as a salad container unless you really want to cram the salad in there and you don't want any toppings. ;)I have had the container for about 6 months and haven't had any issues with the seal getting nasty. I usually stick the glass bowl in the dishwasher and hand wash the lid out of fear it will get deformed in the dishwasher's high heat. I have put the lid in the dishwasher on the top rack before and it came out fine, but I've had other brands' snap-on lids warp and shrink in there so hand washing is more of a precaution I take for my favorite bowl.The glass hasn't discolored even though I put red-sauced pastas in it all the time (and sometimes neglect to clean the bowl for a few days; forgive the busy college student). The plastic lid hasn't discolored either, to my delight. The container I received has a light green seal rather than a light blue seal which isn't exactly important to me, I just thought it might be to someone else.Overall, this is a fantastic product, and I plan on buying more Glasslock containers.

Be aware that these "17-Ounce" containers cannot freeze 17 ounces of food. As you know, when freezing food, you must allow space at the top for expansion. If I allow 3/8" air space, these containers hold only 12 OUNCES! If I'd known that, I would have bought larger ones.Frankly, with the additional weight and delicacy of these containers over plastic ones, carrying 12 ounces of food for lunch in them wouldn't be worth it.I can't comment on their usefulness, as I haven't used them yet. So I'll give them three stars, but I'm disappointed in the description.

Like everybody, I'm moving away from plastic for storage or cooking.These seem durable and of good quality for the price.A solid snap is satisfying when putting the lids on.Can be in microwave if: not full to brim, and lid is not snapped but loosely on.I tend not to ever go freezer to microwave, unless it is a very gentle defrosting, so can't comment on that.

We use these every day to pack lunches. We also freeze leftovers in them. They are great.One thing to note. The green seal band should be taken out when washing the containers as it can grow stuff under it.

This small glass container with a snap on lid is a bit smaller than the white ones that were made by corning with their blue pattern. This is clear glass and is small enough to fit in the corning container. Food doesn't dry out or evaporate as with the corning ones. The cover here snaps shut.. It's easy enough to open unless your hands are slippery. Easy to clean without scrubbing. Not heavy.

Was actually smaller than I thought. Still a useful container.

This is a good container. I wish there are other sizes to choose from, too. I found other containers that I like, but most of them are in sets. I don't like to get sets because I will end up with the containers I don't use.

Great to bring lunch to work. Liquids do not leak, can be washed in the dishwahser and heated in the microwave.
