Year 2000, 1500 GME Sierra spare tire hoist experience.
My experience may help you decide.Bought my Sierra used Feb. 2019. Had 272K miles, and plan to use just as a way to pull boat to landing. Tire jack and tool set was missing, so needed both. This tool set is used to operate both the jack and the spare tire hoist. My hoist's input stub shaft is a square that had worn/rounded corners that didn't present enough engagement. Because of this, the square socket end of Red Hound would slip and distort, and thus not turn the hoist shaft. I think if my hoist input shaft had the original profile this tool set may have worked ok, but the tool's steel material is not very rigid and may distort with the force needed to overcome the hoist's clutch resistance. These things said, here's how I made the Red Hound work for my needs.I abandoned the idea of using any of the tool for operating my spare hoist, but modified it so easier to use for operating as the jack shaft. The normal jacking method is to use the square hole in the included lug wrench/tire iron to engage the extension tubes for turning the jack input. The tire iron method is awkward and wobbly and presents the danger of hitting your body while turning.I applied epoxy to a 12 point, 3/8" drive socket and drove it onto the smaller square end of one of the Red Hound extension tubes. Now I can use a ratchet to raise and lower my jack, and now have to deal with the unwieldy tire iron. Now a 'work around' fix for your worn out spare tire hoist shaft.Drive a 1/4 or 3/8 inch, 13mm, 12 point, deep well socket (coat socket inside with epoxy) onto the hoist input square stub shaft.Buy long enough 1/4 or 3/8 inch drive extensions to reach beyond rear bumper, and happily hoist away.

It does the job wonderful. Haven't had to use the tire iron yet ...
Exact match to the original equipment that came with the truck. It does the job wonderful. Haven't had to use the tire iron yet but the spare tire extension bars work great and I had no problems getting the tire up and down with this set. Thanks for offering a product of the same quality as OEM for a fraction of the price.

Does not operate the spare tire hoist.
I bought this kit because I needed to replace a fuel pump driver module, located above the spare tire. At that time I had the factory kit. I (apparently) left it in the parking lot where the truck failed to start, or the back bumper or something, as I no longer have it. But my tire hoist works fine, as new, not sticky, and just does it's job. This kit has all the right pieces. The lug wrench works, no flat tires yet, but it is the right size and will take more force than is appropriate for the lug nut/stud size. That part (at one use, on an unrelated bolt, was actually kind of good for such a low use tool. Cool. This replacement jack driver extension will operate the jack just fine. That part is good. The two extensions, the female square sockets, they are so far oversized, and so thin, that they will not operate the spare tire hoist. Both of them. You can bend them into a more proper shape, and it will start to grab, but it just rounds out when you attempt to lower or raise the spare tire.I can't give points for the "successes", as this last failure makes it all a moot point. I bought tire tools so that I can change a tire, and here I sit with new, shiny, tested but as yet unused tools, and I still can not change a tire.Garbage.

Works as expected
I have had to use this tool a few times now. It works as expected and priced much better than what the dealer charges. The only place that had a better price was found later at Rock Auto.

Poorly made but will work in a pinch
Flared ends are to be square but are more rounded and the pressure ball locks on the extensions do not stay together. To much play in the female end.
