doesn't do what i wanted it to do
So, I moved to this new apartment in January. About a week or so in, my neighbor's dog started barking all night long. ALL. NIGHT. LONG. And not just any bark, but a sort of barking-into-screeching-into-howling kind of bark. The bark that says, "I will destroy anything that comes within a mile of me," and then passes the message on to all living things within a mile. For the first couple weeks of it, I laid awake in bed at night, while it serenaded the neighborhood with the songs of its people, and I fantasized about all the horrible things the might randomly happen to it, for example: what if a piece of space trash plummeted to earth at thousands of miles per hour and landed directly on it? Or, better still: maybe it will try to eat that rooster that starts crowing two hours before the sun comes up, and choke to death on its bones!? Two birds, one throat. My neighbors are pretty much feral human beings, and so it is fitting their dog would be about as equally feral as they are. When I initially complained about offhandedly to the landlords, they assured me: "Yea, it's in heat." Oh, well, ok, so this will pass!Spoiler alert: it didn't pass. The bitch (and, just for the record, that term is linguistically correct) barked every single night for four solid months.Recently, the bitch bore a litter of puppies! Oh, goodie! Now it's a whole chorus! Just what I was hoping for!Since the response from everyone around me has been, "Well, it's a dog, what can you do?" -- here's an idea, and just hear me out here: how about keep it inside at night?! -- I bought this whistle to try and deal with the endless barking in a humane way... yanno, rather than fashioning myself a Gilligan's Island blow gun and shooting them with poison tipped darts. This specific whistle is advertised to work "up to 400 yards," so I figured it would have no trouble covering the 100 or so feet away from my bedroom window where the nightly performance takes place. But, spoiler alert #2, it turns out: not so much!Supposedly, this device is to be used as a pet training tool, tho, honestly, I cannot understand how. The enclosed instruction sheet explains _how_ to train a dog, including brilliant advice such as: reward it for doing what you told it to do. (Outstanding advice, doctor.) But it doesn't really explain *how* to use the whistle as a tool in that training. And I can't even fathom how it would be. Isn't it supposed to piss them off, make them stop what they're doing, and pay attention to you?Final spoiler alert: it doesn't even do that! Also, while it is a very nice design, it is an exact replica of other available models. And, when I say exact, I mean *EXACT*: right down to the very fonts on the packaging! They are obviously produced from the same factory. It's like taking drop shipping to a whole new level -- I guess it's drop manufacturing? Ok, "PoshWag."This was a complete waste of money.

The whistle is made well, good plating
The whistle is very nicely made, polished to a high sheen, with good plating and no sharp edges to catch on your lip when you use it. It was packaged well, with an instruction sheet included. I like that it has a slide on cover for the whistle attached with the chain, so when it's in my pocket it keeps it clean, and that the pitch is adjustable to 'tune' it to the note that most attracts your dog's attention. The dog can definitely hear it, while it's very quiet to my hearing. Now to start the training!

pretty good stuff, but deli boy needs training
Four stars only, however -- not b/c of slice-and-wrap issues, rather b/c I have had better -- this is not the VERY best available (though at that price it should be!).Nevertheless it is indeed a very good product, better even when&if the deli staff learn to slice it as thin as possible and, not lay slice atop slice making separation nearly impossible; instead using plenty of the heavy wax paper between layers of meat. Like: a dozen of sheets per pound if done right (I'm guesstimating -- they still wont let me near big dangerous machines, darn it! ;)This is Italian Prosciutto, not some American boiled ham. No one should be handling it unless properly trained, fGs!Come on now people. Get with the program.

Barking Dogs
I have two Morkies that bark at anyone coming to the house. But one, a rescue, gets very aggressive even though I've had both of them since they were 7 weeks old. I'm moving into a condo soon and wanted to see if this whistle would stop them from barking when they hear someone outside. Hopefully this will help!

Sweet Pork!
I am currently visiting Minneapolis, MN, from Japan enjoying my reunion with my family memberswho live in the US for 30 years.A few days ago, I ordered 2lbs of Prosciutto de Parma from this supplier through Amazon.com andI received it today. The Prosciutto was carefully wrapped with a bubble pack and then put under Ice Packs and in ahardboard carton box which is marked "PERISHABLE".The ham was sweet and delicious and met my expectation, and I am very happy to have it.In Japan it costs 2.5 times more even including the shipping charges from the supplier in NY toMN presumably because of the high import duty...I assure you you will not be disappointed to have this, and it's worth flying 7,000 miles fromTokyo to Minneapolis.

You just need a short light bow for one second
I have had my rescue dog for 7 years. He is a barker. He hears thing I don’t. I have tried other things and products and nothing has worked. I put this on the lowest setting (he’s a small dog) and blew it (not hard) when he was in his favorite chair. Never said anything to him and he got up and came jumped on my lap. The big test will be when the mail cart comes by.My sister has two barkers and I am sending one.

Craftsmanship is superior to other whistles
I have gone through other dog whistles. Each of them would slip off frequency until I put loctite on itThis one is heads and shoulders above the others. The craftsmanship is superior to the others I used. Also, the distance seems better. It solves the problem of frequency shift by using a set screw instead of a lock nut, which always came loose.Remember that a dog whistle is a training tool and not a magic wand. Patience is key.

You can actually hear the whistle.
The product's name is "Silent Bark Control for Dogs" the problem is that you can still hear the whistle!!! Sooo... you are creating more noise. I bought this because we have a neighbor who's dog won't stop barking and I have someone sick and sensitive to noise at home. The problem is that the whistle makes noise so it totally defeats the purpose for us. No matter on which setting you can still hear it. Just a word of warning. Maybe I did not see the "footnote" but it is a fact. Unless the product is broken and it should not be doing what is doing.
