**UPDATE**09/04/19I’m dropping my 5star review to a 1 star because out of nowhere the app doesn’t connect to the feeder stating it’s offline. The app only wants to connect when I’m on the home WiFi where the pet feeder is connected. What’s the point of this product if I can’t use all the feature to the max. Be aware of the reviews on the App Store. I should’ve done way more research than the basic amazon reviews. Just don’t waste your money with this one.This smart feeder was the best purchase I could ever have done for my cats! Makes being a cat mom so much more easier since I’m away for work 12-14 hours a day. The Smart feeder feeds them on time and even notifies me when they’ve been fed and also notifies me when their food is running low. The live stream video is really clear especially the night vision part! I’ve already recommended this product to my family.

This is a great feeder! I went away for 5 days and I have 2 cats, there was still more than enough food left when I returned home! The camera is a great feature, and I love that I can say hello to my pets! Super easy to program with the APP and you can also manually feed your pet with the APP if that’s your preference. The amount that comes out is set to ounces. If you’re unsure about how much to set for the feeding, I suggest you test how much comes out according to what you set it to and then decide if you should be feeding more or less. I set it to 5x the ounce amount per feeding time and measured the amount that came out in a measuring cup and then adjusted accordingly.

** most recent update, just short of a year later - the thing is feeding him 3x, sometimes 5x the serving, it just won't stop! I cleaned the sensors, reset it. idk whats going on but my cat actually freaks out cause he'll start eating then it just DUMPS out 5 more portions! - It now just DUMPS OUT ALL THE FOOD, even with 1 serving scheduled, or 1 push of the manual button, it keeps going until all the food is gone or the tray over flows and it gets jammed.It's basically a cat cam now - the video is still SUPER GOOD but it's basically free feeding my cat.update: it's been 2 months and suddenly it won't connect to the feeder unless I'm on the same WIFI as the feeder. I've tried uninstalling, rebooting, reconnecting - it works in my wifi and doesn't when I leave. It still feeds as scheduled but it defeats the purpose if I can't see the camera or feed remotely. There is no customer support available. Minus 1 star. *update, the app randomly updated and fixed this*Years back I had a automated feeder that was a timer, kinda looked like this, but it SHOOK LOUDLY & violently every-time it dispensed in order to avoid clogging. This one doesn't shake, but it doesn't seem to clog with Tiki Cat kibbles which is great!The app is pretty great, easy to set up, very quick! The video actually looks high quality, but if you're not on wifi (your phone) or on good cellular, it will freeze, and be delayed. I haven't had good luck with the audio, from inside my house it's only delayed a few seconds, but from anywhere else, it's quite slow. It does sound robotic and it can be fragmented. In my experience, you have to hold the mic button down for a couple seconds till you see the icon come on the screen (mic is on) then wait a few seconds more, then speak slowly and loudly. You'll hear it if you have the sound on.My cat weirdly does not care about this machine, I'm not sure if he can't hear it cause it's not shaking loudly? He used to come running with the other one (but again this was a few years back). I have a voice record to play 3x, I like that you can adjust the number of times it repeats. Perhaps I'll yell louder in my recording!The tray pops out for easy cleaning, and it does tell you when your kibble is low.Pros- doesn't clog- easy quick set up; easy app- great video quality if you're on good reception- big capacitySuggestions:I wish it sealed better, I worry about the kibble getting stale so I only put a small amount for the day.The audio is not very good, takes a long time, can be fragmentedMaybe it's too silent? My cat doesn't seem to know when it goes off.As someone else mentioned, the camera doesn't show the tray. So you can't know if the food came out, or if they ate it.If this had a motion sensor that would fix most of my desires, since everytime it goes off, my cat doesn't hear it and doesn't come. I have randomly logged in and seen him eating it is very cute -you can record to your phone and share to facebook immediately! You can also take photos. You could record with a microSD if you want, and D batteries incase of power outage which is great!* update - I tried to do a manual feeding from my phone at night and it didn't go off. In the morning, it sounded the audio but didn't dispense. I unplugged it and plugged it back in, it reconnected after a few minutes and worked after shaking it a bit. I think if it doesn't have enough food it won't go at all - although I like to keep very little sense it is not air tight and bugs can get it (haven't yet though) and the food could get stale.Since you can't see if the food came out through the camera, I installed a webcam on the feeder, but the bowl is brown and so is the kibble so I can't see if there's food in it! Gonna put a paper in the tray instead.- The camera on this is WAY better than my security camera! It's astounding.

Update November 2020: App worked again after a couple of days. Now working perfectly again. 5 stars.Update October 2020: iPhone app no longer works, so there is no way to control the feeder other than manually. Feeder itself works great. Lowering my rating from 5 stars to 1 star until this is fixed.Another update: Been using this feeder over a year now with no issues. Still recommended.Update: Been using for a few weeks now. Works perfectly. The blue power button does blink from time to time but no functionality is affected. Highly recommended.Just arrived today. Instructions in real English actually work perfectly. Love it’s now connected to my Wi-Fi and the really nice free iPhone Pet Partner app has loads of functionality and is easy to use. Camera is HD.NOTE: One thing that I didn’t see in the product description or in any previous reviews is if you want to use an optional SD card to store photos and videos, it takes a MICRO SD card up to 32 GB. I pre-ordered a regular SD card, so now have to order the smaller one.Uses 3 D batteries (optional), not included. I put batteries in. They’re insurance if your power ever fails. If running on battery power, the unit will disconnect from your Wi-Fi and the app will not connect to the unit. However, the unit will continue to feed your pet until the batteries fail, but I think your power won’t be off that long.I’ll update my review after I’ve had it awhile. But right now I highly recommend this as the best automatic cat feeder on the market. Might work okay for small dogs too. Doesn’t dispense enough food for large animals.
