The Iliad & The Odyssey Kindle Edition

I read The Iliad & The Odyssey in school and hated doing so. Now that I am much older I can honestly say that this was a great historical read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This was a great book and had may good usage of words and the suspense and quality was too good that I couldn’ out the book down great book

Translation was good, except for frequent sometimes comical misspellings. No attempt made to replicate Homeric meter.

Couldn't put it down. These are classic stories that never get old. Totally recommend this book for anyone that is new to Greek mythology.

Classic story and fun to re-read...

I read these ancient books as part of a Great Courses lecture series which allows you to understand the books better. Unless you really understand classic literature, reading with lectures to explain is the way to go. Have fun!

Both of the Greek Epics in one package. Perfect!!

the stories were great, but the characters were better.

How on earth can you review a book like this, thousands of years old and still in print. When I got to last page of the Odyssey I was so disappointed, I just wanted it to go on and on. The translation is everything if you find this one not to your taste then try a different one. But Read it.

I have always wanted to read both these classics and finally got round to it and have thoroughly enjoyed them. There are a few spelling and grammatical errors but not enough to spoil the narrative.I am however a little confused as there is nothing about the Trojan horse, the actual sacking of Troy or the death of Achillies other than brief mentions, mostly in the odyssey.

Good translation and arrangement. There are some typing errors but they do not affect the reading or comprehension. Overall a good ensemble! Much recommended.

This is a translation of a very, very old Greek poem but it is in prose. It uses the Roman names for the Gods. This edition has many printing errors.

It's the ultimate of Classics, it's a must have along with Shakespeare and Dickins...I can't say any more than that
