Holiday Cards: 20 Peaceful Night (Deluxe Holiday Cards) Cards – June 1, 2007

Delightful. Non-denominational and the image evokes the peaceful beauty of the season. The stock is nice and heavy, with a nice glossy finish. There is glitter detail on the front to highlight the picture and make it look like the snow is sparkling along the railing and tree limbs. This glitter is very small and while it isn't wafting into the air it does come off and you'll find some has drifted into the inside of the card. It isn't ALOT of glitter though so don't be worried about overwhelming anyone and the glitter is tiny.I'm really happy with this purchase -- 20 cards is more than most boxed sets. It comes in a silver box and could be a gift. It comes with a little card explaining the origins of the press that printed it and other than the top card, the rest are wrapped in a gold stamped sash of vellum. The inside 2 lines of text are red, italic print. No mention of holidays, religion, or flying spaghetti monsters.The one thing that surprised me is the cards are off-white, not bright white. The envelopes are creamy off-white to match. Not a big deal or anything, but the amazon photo makes it look white.

These cards are simply magical; not only is the photograph on the cover stunning in and of itself, but the well placed glitter that you can't see in the advertising photo on the highlights (where the streetlights would hit the snow, rails, etc.) brings a whole new dimension to every card. The message inside, "Wishing you peace and joy this holiday season," is short and simple, written on the second inside flap in a clean red font. For those who like to write a lot in their holiday cards, but like having a little printed message as well, this suits that purpose just fine.Also, seeing as I am pagan and celebrate the winter solstice (also called Yule or Yuletide), this gives me a wonderful, non-religious text that can apply to any and all of my friends and family. When you're buying a box of holiday cards and you have friends from every walk of life, that is definitely a big help and takes the edge off of worrying about offending someone's culture or religious beliefs.Bottom line: elegant image, lovely highlights, clean lines, simple (yet sincere) message, and good size. I can't wait to send these out to everyone!

The reviews and description did not prepare me what to expect so here is my addition.1. The cards have lots of glitter. Expect glitter everywhere. It sheds on the envelopes, it gets on your table and on your hands and your face or anything you touch.2. The card is kind of like a dull glossy photograph. It is smooth paper. I tried to run it through three different printers to add my printed message but the slick paper with glitter would not grip on the rubber wheels in the printer.3. The printed message is in red.All and all it is a nice card.

These greeting cards,by Peter Pauper Press, have a melancholy, almost lonely night scene which somehow evokes a beautiful serenity. This was especially applicable to my family, as this is our first Christmas without my mother. Inside, the simple message, "Wishing You Peace and Joy This Holiday Season" is displayed.The cards are of a good heavy stock.I particularly like the fact the one extra envelope is included, as I usually make a mistake on the first one a print on the computer each year.The drawback, was that the The United States Postal Service (USPS) charged an additional 20 cents on each one because of the size. At approximately 5 X 7 inches, they had to be sorted by hand, rather than automation. Of course, the card manufacturer has no control over USPS policies.I look forward to selecting Christmas cards and sending them to the family each year. All in all, I loved these cards and thought they were excellent all the way around.

As others have mentioned, this card set comes with a lot of excess glitter for some reason. That didn't bother me and I'd read the reviews ahead of time. I shook the cards off outside to reduce the excess and found the remaining amount to be a nice touch. I got a lot of compliments on the cards. The scene is pretty, heartwarming, and not over the top or festive. I think it gives people the room to read into it, in a way. I thought it was beautiful and overall was very happy. The product description was accurate and I will look for more cards from this seller and artist in the future.

I don't normally write reviews but I was so impressed by these cards that I had to write one.These card are beautiful and such a great deal pricewise! There is glitter on the cards but it's not overdone which I love.What I liked most about this purchase is the way the company packages and presents them. You can tell Peter Pauper takes pride in it's presentation of products. The card container is very sturdy and when you open the container you find a note explaining the company history and then the 20 cards are held together with a beautiful ribbon with the company seal. Well done!

The cards are a little darker (think "Sepia")than the picture, which I really like. The writing on the inside is written in RED italicized- Adobe Caslon Pro font.I think a black-brown would have suited the style of the card better than red, but that's just me. The cards are glittery, but I didn't have a problem with glitter everywhere like some other reviewers cautioned. The (red) message in the card reads "May the lights of the season fill your home with peace and joy throughout the year." We have friends and family from varied faiths,or no faith at all, and I love how the sentiment is welcoming to everyone.

Glitter is the herpes of the craft world. 5 cards in and my kitchen table is covered in green glitter. It's on my clothes, my wife's face, it will probably be in our food. The cards look very nice apart from the glitter, but this is ridiculous.

These are beautiful, great quality cards, both the picture and the card itself. They're nicely presented too. I will definitely be buying this brand again.
