Best Outdoor Investment Ever!
We live in Southern New Hampshire. Our pool is a 15' above ground with a solar cover. Our typical year sees pool temperatures in the 70s in June, low 80s in July, and pool season comes the an abrupt end in late August. It's a very short season and no really warm pool water.I spotted this heater about a year ago. Every couple of months I'd read the generally positive reviews. Three weeks ago, I finally ordered it. BEST DECISION EVER.Delivery was on time. It took about a week. At almost 80 pounds, I easily moved it alone by placing it on cardboard and dragging it. Peace of cake.Setup: 120v meant no electrician. I did have to make a trip to our local pool store for a couple of fittings. At $29, it was no big deal.I found the control panel to be a bit complicated, the instructions unclear, but I got there. As a heat pump, I expected it to take time to heat up our pool. The first few days had nights in the 50s, days in the 70s. We even got a couple inches of rain, dumping 2" of 50 degree rainwater into the pool.In spite of this, from Wednesday through Sunday, our pool went from 67° to 84°. Within a few more days, we hit 90°!!!I'm watching the temperatures closely. We lose a couple degrees overnight, but rebound quickly. I couldn't be more pleased. My wife is from Florida and now has Key West water in our own backyard. I'm expecting to extend our pool season through late September. My only regret is not buying this a year ago.

Also works for koi ponds!
I purchased my unit in late 2021 for a formal concrete koi pond and it has been running beautifully since then.Heating: don’t expect this system to turn your pool into a sauna; however, it will give you more stable temperatures throughout the year. In South Texas, we tend to have mild winters, but even on the few days we were below freezing, the water stayed well into the 60s and my fish were none the wiser. Also, don’t expect this to heat quickly; heat pumps take days to catch up, but this is just the nature of these machines.Cooling: this function was a surprise for me! Unit will actually blow off hot air as well, which has come in handy during the hot summers.Sound: when operating normally, it’s actually very quiet; think of an upright fan. Mine has started making a rhythmic clinking sound occasionally as of about a year ago that I can’t seem to find the source of, but the unit continues to work so I’m not going to ding them for this.

Very Disappointed - terrible customer service
This seller gets 1 star because of their extremely unprofessional customer service! We have called several times and emailed them about problems we are experiencing with this heater and they do not respond to anything. The heater will heat our pool but only up to 82 degrees. We had it working last summer up to as warm as we wanted but then it stopped heating past 82 degrees. We tried to contact the company last summer and got no response. Now we are getting ready for pool season again and still the heater won't go past 82 and we have reached out to the company and no response!!!!!!. We have followed the manual to do a factory reset and that won't work either. SO DISSAPOINTING. This thing cost a lot of money and got a 4-1/2 star review on Amazon. I would not recommend this heater or this company. They don't stand behind their product!!!

Great Product!
I was a little skeptical about this heat pump / pool heater since it seemed too good to be true, but I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I am using on an Intelex 12'x24' flex wall pool. Even though the rating on the heater is only 6500 gallons, it heats my 10,000 gallon pool just fine. The installation couldn't have been easier. Simply hook up the filter lines and plug it in! Note: I did buy the 'Intelex' adaptors recommended by Amazon, they worked great. I also had a spare 1.5" pump hose which I would have had to buy. The only issue I had was setting the temperature. The instructions mention that the keypad may be locked, but the panel doesn't show the lock icon. I found that EACH time you want to set the temperature, you have to unlock the keypad. Not a huge issue, but a bit confusing. Finally, as mentioned in the product description, the speed of heating is VERY dependent on the ambient temperature / humidity. If the ambient temp is in the mid-80's with high humidity, the heater will raise the water temp from 80-85 within a few hours. If the ambient temp is in the 60's with low humidity, it will struggle to maintain a water temp of 82. Overall I'm very happy with the performance, but I don't think it will help all that much once the temperature drops in the fall.
