Aviation Safety Programs: A Management Handbook Paperback – Unabridged, January 1, 2003

I took off a star because the shipping took FOREVER. I think it took 19 days for shipping! I used this book for an Embry Riddle class but I'll keep it. It's a great reference guide if you are looking to work in the aviation safety field.

Richard Wood does it again! This gentleman truly understands how to teach and writes his books accordingly. I was never bored when reading this text (required for Aviation Safety at Embry-Riddle) and it had a wealth of information in it. This text is one that every aviation safety student and every flight safety inspector (and perhaps a pilot or two) should have in their library.

I cannot speak to how this book sums up aviation safety, as I have only a vague overview of the aviation industry as it relates to space systems. His references and understanding of key respected theorists like Maslow and Reason however, leaves much to be desired. While he may be able to speak and write effectively about safety in the aviation industry, his application of most theory in his book is less than stellar and should not be used as scholarly reference.

Definitely a must have for anyone who needs to understand Aviation Safety Management. This company shipped it and I received it in perfect condition. I applaud their effort as I needed it in 1-day and that is all it took! Thanks!

Well written and easy to understand.

This book is exactly as listed and works just as good for my class as any book would. This book that I purchased was used, but I couldn't really tell it was used at all.

A very basic book that in my view will only be useful for the novice. For a professional looking to deepen their approach to safety systems a book written by somebody with greater knowledge and experience would be a better investment. The cost of this book is too expensive for the material delivered.
