Used to get product out of my locs
This truly works to remove product… & all shine from your hair. You don’t have to use alot. Probably won’t buy again because it leaves my hair too dry but will use till it’s gone.

finally, something gets the pomade out!
I regularly use the Dax high and tight ultimate hold to actually get my hair to stay up in a pomp that I like, but I hate never actually feeling like my hair is clean anymore on the off days that I just want to wear a hat or something. I tried "deep clean" shampoos, "clarifying" shampoos, and nothing would work. First day using this though, my hair felt wonderful after my shower! I've been using it three times a week for about a month now and I'm loving it.

Works great for removing pomade/hair grease!
I bought this so that I could shampoo out the Murray's pomade that I was trying for the first time, and it worked fantastic. No rinse-and-repeat needed, either. Just one washing removed the grease and oil and left my hair soft and manageable. Recommended!

It does not remove DAX wave and groom
I was hoping that the Dax shampoo would do what it was advertised to do (remove pomade) . It doesn't. It does exactly what any shampoo does. I was Disappointed. I do have to say that the company sent a great selection of samples of pomade and dressings, flyers, and sticker.

Not effective and amateurish (branding)
This did not work. I used the little medium hold pomade packets it came with. My hair is thick and straight. After two full applications and washings with this shampoo, I could still feel the pomade in my hair. I do like writing negative reviews like this, but felt compelled to so other consumers don’t waste their time. I do NOT recommend this.

Light, clean scent, effective with multiple applications
I've used this to remove DAX Wave & Groom, (super thick pomade,) and Tres Flores Brilliantine, (medium thick,) both are petroleum based and leave residue. You will have to use multiple applications depending on the thickness of the product you've applied. I use 2-3 apply, lather, rinse cycles for DAX and 1-2 for Tres Flores. The longer you've left the product in your hair the less you'll need to apply of this shampoo. It lathers very well with a very small amount, yields a great value.

Good shampoo
I like this shampoo, makes my hair soft and manageable. I use this and Mane 'N Tail, both are excellent shampoos.
