Wolff's Carbon Pencil Set (442159)

My favorite pencils for any kind of charcoal drawing! Great quality and value. Very durable and smooth to use.

I'm immersing myself in pencil world, lately. Its a deep subject with all kinds of pencils out there. My favorite so far is the Staedtler Lumograph black pencils. Deep rich MATTE graphite/carbon combination, NO graphite shine. I remember reading about the Wolffs pencils back in the 70's and never tried them, ran across another mention so ordered this set. These are right there with the Lumograph Black pencils, are not chalky like charcoal, great blacks, no shine, just AWESOME. Ordered two more packs because I will be using these alot. I'm not sure if they are waterproof, probably not, but workable fixative will solve that problem if I want to add watercolors which I will soon try. LOVE THESE!

Best pencils for all skill levels imho. Intense dark matte blacks without the shine of graphite, down to light precise lines. Like most traditional media, harder lead/lighter pressure is easier to erase. Very easy to blend and pick up without a lot of excess shedding. These are my go to supplies and I'm sad the aren't more stores in my area that carry them!

Carbon based pencils leave a lovely dark mark. Because of carbon strength they are not overly soft like charcoal, don't break that easy, and therefore not as messy. Set comes with B, 2B, 4B, 6B. Pleasntly surprised, highly recomend.👍👍👍

These are good drawing pencils, but do leave more crumbs than I prefer. They blend well and are nice and dark.

I am not a fan of charcoal and have been using the Mars Lumograph black and then I tried these! These pencils give you the desired black without the mess. I am definitely sold on these and just ordered a bunch more to ensure I have my stash! They aren’t quite as smooth as graphite so shading large areas is rough but it blends out super nice! I took a pic to show the richness of the 6B compared to the 8B Mars black. It really does speak for itself.

These work very well for the type of artwork I do. I had a little problem when sharpening the lead kept breaking inside the pencil. This is the curse of a carbon pencil. I seemed to have it under control and the pencil is fantastic. Highly recommend these for carbon artists.

I need something that was similar to charcoal in terms of pure black and no shine that would keep its sharpness and not break off so easily and these do the work. Even though I can't shade as smoothly as did with charcoal it compensates for allowing more detailed work. For shading I just use a metal nail file to create a fine powder and use that for smooth shading. Since with these when you try to go from dark to light it leaves pencil marks and does not allow you to smooth the shade as easily as the charcoal pencils would. You can essentially mix charcoal and carbon pencils but the charcoal needs to be added thick otherwise if you run across an area where I already used carbon it tends to not grab the charcoal. Yet adding the charcoal as a powder or hard it will mix with the carbon although a bit more darker which is why I add the charcoal on the darker area and use the carbon on dark to mid tones and for details. They won't mix well with graphite since graphite is rather grey compared to these ones and areas where graphite is added somewhat thick it wont grab the carbon. The only reason I gave it a 5 and not a 4 is because I am more than satisfied with these pencils they allow me to create great portraitist yet similar to charcoal you have to be careful because they don't erase that well.

Gölgelendirme çalışmalarında fevkalade işe yarar. Bu tür (kömür kalem, karbon kalem vs.) kalemlerin ucu daha önceden de bir çok kez bahsettiğim gibi kalemtıraşla değil kretuar bıçak ve(ya) zımpara kağıdı(sandpaper) ile açılmalı tabi özellikle kretuar bıçağı kullanırken dikkatli olunmasında fayda var. Sonuç olarak Wolff's karbon kalemler tavsiye edilir.

Ha llegado con varios días de antelación. Lo dejaron en el buzón. Supongo que llegó a través de correos. En cuanto al producto, lo esperado. Buenos lápices de carboncillo, se deslizan con suavidad y tienen ese negro profundo. No me gusta compararlos con otros de otras marcas, ya que cada uno tiene sus pros y sus contras. Uso indistintamente Conté tanto en Charcoal como Pierre Noire, y también General Pencil Charcoal serie 557 y 558, (en ambas marcas también gasto barras comprimidas), y ahora Wolff's Carbon, y elegir una marca sería injusto (aunque General Pencil está un poco por encima del resto, a mi parecer). Utilizo las tres marcas indistintamente. Es cuestión de sacarles el rendimiento a cada una.
