UPDATE: SUPER PET BED!!
Three Years Later...I am online today looking for another dog bed — not because this one didn’t hold up, but because we have a second dog and another on the way! I just saw my old review and it made me think I should let you know why I think this dog bed is totally worth the money. Our Portuguese Water Dog was pictured on the bed three years ago when we first bought it. She uses it everyday and recently has had to share her bed with our 1 year old 13lb Havanese for the past year. She has gotten used to it, and the little boy loves snuggling, but we are adopting another next week and the three of them will simply be too much! I do launder the cover regularly and it washed great, so I bought a second cover. It is also relatively easy to get on and off considering the complexity of the bed design (which the dog really likes for the bolsters and I really like for it’s clean line design.) For the past three years I have alternated the two covers every two weeks or so, so they each get laundered once every 1 - 1 1/2 months. The fabric of the cloth covers is showing some wear, but that is to be expected after the frequent use and laundering and they are still in one piece and working well. The foam has held up extremely well — I seriously can’t tell the difference from when we first got it.As I have looked around at what is available now, I see the Brentwood Home pet bed that looks as nice or nicer, but it is even more expensive as are the replacement covers (if you can find them.) The other beds don’t have as nice a foam interior bed, or they don’t have a waterproof liner, or they don’t have replacement covers. I really can’t believe there is still nothing out that compares to this bed. So, suffice to say, I heartily recommend it!Side note: My one problem now is that when I was changing the cloth covers a couple months ago, I got interrupted and left the interior foam bed unattended. It has a nice waterproof cover/liner on the foam, so that you can remove the cover to wash and wipe it down if the dog has an accident. Well, the little Havanese must have thought it looked like a toy because when I returned he had already started to shred it. The foam was still fine and I taped up the plasticy liner as best I could but now it is starting to fall apart around where I taped it up. I haven’t been able to find a replacement for this interior cover and need to look for a Sealy customer service number to see if they can help.—————————————-Our Portuguese Water Dog has been sleeping around the house on pillows , blankets or a mat in the mudroom for years now. She has never chewed or shredded the fluffy pillows or mats that we have given her over the years. I have simply given her whatever we have around or found on sale and it more or less just marks her spot -- or keeps the furniture from being marked. However, since she turned 9 recently I have noticed her limping around the house several days a week and it seems to be worse in the mornings. The vet said it's likely she is starting to have arthritis -- and feeling guilty about the state of her sleeping arrangements, I researched comfort/orthopedic dog beds. This dog bed was the best option for us given it's size, cost, generous pad thickness & comfy bumper -- it also had a number of positive reviews wherever I saw it online. As usual, I look around but ended up buying it at Amazon due to their competitive price, excellent customer service and free Prime shipping. Our dog is about 45 pounds and medium sized -- and the medium sized bed fits her perfectly. If we were more concerned about space or had a dog that always curled up to sleep, we might have been able to go with a size smaller. But the medium allows her to stretch out as well, resting her head on the bumper as she does.We have had it a month now and it has held up well. I put a blanket over it so I don't have to wash the cover as often. I will pull it off in the coming week for it's first launder and post again as to how it washes up. I will also see if they sell the cover only, so I can just rotate them. But the real test is does the dog sleep in it? Does she seem more comfortable than before? Yes and Yes. While she still prefers a human bed or sofa, if she has to stay in the mudroom, she's in her bed and not on the floor much anymore. She also doesn't seem to be limping around as much. All in all, I am very happy with this find -- good looking for me and comfortable for my girl!

Excellent Quality and Comfort for Maggie
The dog bed is extremely well-made. We have two for our 31 pound dog, and she loves them. They have the quality of a people Sealy Posturpedic mattress. The memory foam is dense and the cooling layer helps keep Maggie comfortable. We have had these beds for at least three years, and they look brand new. You can take the cover off and wash them, but I have found it easy to put a baby crib sheet over the bed and just wash that. These beds are real quality. They cost more than beds you buy at local stores, but these last forever.

One happy senior pup ❤️
The media could not be loaded. So I scooped her up mid nap and migrated her into the bed and she was comfortable continuing to sleep on the new bed haha! We're only on day one so I still gotta see how she likes it for regular sleeping since she'll go between a couple spots in the house to sleep and take naps, but so far we're getting good puppy reviews! She's a 15 year old Shih Tzu with arthritis, so I figured it was about time to get her an orthopedic bed to support her. I mainly picked this one because it has a cooling layer on top as well as a removeable cover and liquid resistant covers for the bolster and bed itself.Took about an hour to fully come to normal size after unpacking, the cover is machine washable which was the first thing I did as it had a little bit of the new manufature smell. Super easy to assemble and put together, you do kinda gotta be careful with the zippers because the bottom does unzip fully. Once everything is zipped though it feels pretty solid.I ordered a medium since I was concerned about the small not being big enough to stretch and roll around as needed so the medium works well for her. She's a pretty big Shih Tzu (17lbs, extra long pup) so I wanted to make sure she was comfortable, but I also did measure the size to make sure it would work well for her. It is accurate to what I measured out which is good! I added a video for reference, she's not a super big dog by all means, more just a princess that likes her space lololol. It does feel super solid once its inflated which is nice since it feels like it'll give her the support her joints need while being firm enough to hold her up well. The top layer does feel nice and cool which will be awesome when it get hot!So far it's going great for her and I hope the new bed helps her sleep more comfortably :')

He loves it, and so far I do too!
I've only had this bed for a couple of hours, so I may change my review later. Like all dogs Darwin deserves only the best. Darwin is an 8 year old Golden Retriever who weighs 82 pounds. I spent hours researching dog beds. I was willing to spend up to about 250.00 and in the end it was between this bed and the Casper bed. After looking at numerous Casper reviews I decided that the fabric didn't look all that much better, that the support was probably similar, and that the usable size of the Casper was just a bit to small. Also, Darwin tends to run hot and I appreciated the cooling feature of this bed.I wanted an orthopedic bed (no cheap foam) that is firm enough to support him, but soft enough so he feels comfortable. This met that with flying colors. It is reminiscent of my expensive latex mattress topper.I also did not want any of the velour/fuzzy fabric that most beds were made of. Dog hair just gets all over it and it doesn't seem as easy to clean. The sides of this are light grade upholstery, and the top of the mattress is similar to a bed sheet. I'm fine with the sides, but the top is not the sturdiest. I've already ordered a cooling pet blanket that I will tuck on top of the bed, so that will work fine.Darwin immediately hopped on the bed and began vigorously scratching it. No damage at all. It does not smell (as some new foam does). It was very easy to put together - less than five minutes alone. It isn't fully expanded yet, but Darwin already seems to like it.I'll update my post later, but for now, I think that Darwin will be having sweet dreams in this bed
