Game Changer!
I make furniture and workbenches which employ large architectural dowel joints. Typically 3/4 inch. As I rely on these traditional joints instead of typical fasteners such as screws they need to be match-drilled and align perfectly. This bit drills just slightly oversized bores that fit exotic hardwood dowels perfectly! I highly recommend this Japanese bit.

Sharp, fast, clean cutting. Like the hex end for a good grip
Wonderful. I've used this to drill a series of 3/4" holes in my new 3" thick workbench. I needed it straight and clean the first time. You only get one shot. This bit did the trick with ease. I'd buy more of this type of bit. Love the hex end instead of the round for a good grip on the bit.

Pricey but worth every penny
This Owl Overdrive bit exceeds all my expectations! It is made of very high quality, it makes the cleanest hols I've ever seen, and it is extremely fast. It is an expensive bit but more than worth the money. I highly recommend this bit

Cost effective 3/4” Drill Bit for Dog Holes
I used this bit to drill 72 dog holes. The table top was two sheets of 3/4” plywood with a sheet of laminate cemented to the top. I had to drill through the laminate first and then through the plywood. To make it easier, I drilled a 3/16” pilot hole to more easily center the bit. It took me a solid 2 hours and 30 minutes to drill them all. It was hard to break through the laminate, but then it drilled clean holes through the plywood. By the 72nd hole, the edge of the hole was not as crisp. The pictures show the first hole and the 72nd hole.It did what I wanted it to do. It still has a lot of life in it. With a bit of sharpening I bet it would do another 72 holes cleanly.I’m so glad I purchased it and would highly recommend it.

Possible Faulty Product?
After watching many reviews about Wood Owl I decided to give it a try for drilling wood holes. I've tried it on Cedar and various different plywood. I was unable to drill through a single hole before burning out. I contacted the manufacture about possible more information on the purchased product but still have not received a response.I have been in the electrical/low voltage space for 15+ years so I have tons of experience with different bits but this one ultimately failed me.
