I had it in my hands and I read a few chapters. I have seen other manga or imitation manga and the artwork in this book is legit. The artwork is very beautiful. I also love how they add little bits of humor here and there (when Jesus turned water to wine), that had me laughing outloud. The message portrayed is authentic and is based on Scripture. It is almost like a commentary since it obviously cant have the Gospels line by line. Take it for what it is: fun, great for kids, and art lovers. Really breathes some emotion and imagination into the greatest story ever told. Review: Amazing introduction to the story of Jesus! - I have bought this multiple times so I can give away to non believers and believers alike. It is a great way to introduce those who have ears to hear and eyes to see and especially those who haven't had their hearts hardened to the Gospel. Even though I prefer the NKJV and the KJV translations of the Word, this particular translation is simplified enough so that the average person can easily understand it. The artwork is great and the Gospel message it conveys is true to the Word and has not been compromised. I couldn't put this thing down the first time I bought it. Ever since I became born again, I gave up much of my anime and manga life because much of it has too much of the antichrist spirit in its ideologies and world views. This was a welcome surprise in Christian literature. Do yourself and someone you know a favor, buy this for yourself then give it to where the Holy Spirit wants you to give it.

Amazing Bible Adaption!
I'm probably a bit older than the typical demographic of these books, but I'm a 20-yr-old college student who is an active follower of Jesus and a BIG manga and anime nerd. It's been really hard for me to find quality material, especially since I've recently realized my need to be more discerning with my entertainment, because Japan has a very tiny Christian population, so there aren't many quality works in this subject area. I happened onto this by chance, and it didn't disappoint! The art was beautiful and clearly conveyed the emotions of the scriptures well; the humorous and heartwarming memories were done very well and in a scripturally accurate way. While it didn't shy away from intense themes and scenes, it wasn't excessively violent or gory. Some scenes, such as John the Baptist's beheading, were explicitly stated, but not shown. I think that this is an awesome way to get someone, especially children or teens, into the scriptures, and I fully plan to save my volumes to share with my own children in the future.

Great Manga
I used to own this when I was in highschool after buying it in a bookfair but I let someone borrow it and never got it back so I decided to get one again. This manga is an amazing way to go through the Bible and learn the stories!

Kids can’t put it down
I have this book in my classroom and lots of my students love to read it. It’s constantly in someone’s hands. They love to show me how much they have read and all the cool parts of it. I love having another resource for my students to learn about Jesus.

Good for spurring teen interest in the gospels
I believe this book is a good way to spur teen interest in the gospels. It takes a bit of getting used to the authentic Hebrew names but once their use is explained it is not much of an issue. I like that all the pages contain the scripture references at the bottom and encourage their use. I bought two by mistake and ended up being glad I did as they were popular on a youth retreat I am considering ordering more.

See what everyone has been talking about!
Chronologically Manga Messiah from NEXT Manga is the fourth book (of five so far, a sixth book is planned) that sets the exciting Gospel narrative in context and with authentic manga artistry. These books are absolutely the most powerful way for young people of all ages to spend time in the Word - you will find that your child turns to the full Bible in order to go deeper into the meaning - but these books are awesome for setting them on a course filled with excitement! With editions now published in over 25 languages, young people celebrate that their faith is part of a global youth culture movement - that they are enjoying the word of God just as millions of other kids are in many languages. Because it is so accessible and (dare to say, FUN) kids are sharing their faith through telling the stories in Manga Mutiny, Manga Melech, Manga Messengers, Manga Messiah and Manga Metamorphosis from NEXT Manga.

Not much to say but Absolutely Amazing book! Fitting and beautiful art. I originally bought this and another book in their series for younger siblings but we ended up reading them together. Definitely recommended buy for any age if you're looking for some illustrations to help memorise the Gospel or if you like manga and the Holy Bible. Although, be careful to use these excellent books as an overview for God's Holy Word NOT AS A SUBSTITUTE.
