This book gives 21 simply amazing recipes to follow as well as some tools you need during the whole process- a totally different experience altogether to create your own cosmetics! What I found extremely interesting was to learn all about the dangerous chemicals used in cosmetic line. I really enjoyed reading about non-toxic products every woman can make from the comfort of her home. I am really looking forward to trying out every recipe and create my own organic make-up goodies! Review: For Beginners...Not Comprehensive - I'm new to the concept of making my own makeup at home, and wanted a somewhat simple read to get me started in the right direction. This Kindle book is actually pretty good, and the price is affordable. The book offers recipes and gives the synopsis of how to prepare the product. The book doesn't give you pictures or step by step instructions. It's mainly an overview of what you need, how to mix it together and your done. Personally, I can get by with lite instructions without pictures, but if you're looking for a comprehensive guide, this isn't it. I also like that ingredients were easy to find. Overall, the book is okay.

Fun make-up book!
This was a really cool book. There is in-depth information on creating a wide range of make-up products on your own. From seeing the ingredients and the recommendations it seems like this would make much healthier make-up since our skin absorbs the chemicals we put on it. Also, the writing is great and easy to read. I enjoyed it.

Great tips, however...
Some tips and tricks that are unique, however, the author continued to use vague terminology to describe some important steps. An example from an eye shadow recipe: "Start with the arrowroot; put it in a bowl. Start adding the other powders. The amount varies for each person. If you feel like you need the blush to be darker, add more until you get the desired color." Add more of which powder?? You are left to decipher at this point. This opinion may change when I have the ingredients in front of me and I see which adds color but it frustrates me before I even start. The ingredients for this particular recipe do not appear to offer any color. There are other recipes that suggests ingredients like food coloring or crayons. I won't point out the obvious. But, it would be nice to have tips about how the addition of food coloring or crayons will change the recipe. You're talking about apples and oranges. The book reads as though the author is a good friend and you're chatting over a cup of coffee. Because of this it feels as though some important steps are lost in translation. Overall there appears to be some decent recipes that will be flexible enough for a newbie without ruining the entire recipe. You will just have to do some deciphering along the way. I guess that's what you do when it comes to homemade!!

It was simpler and shorter than I expected, but the price was right and there were lots of recipes. The ingredients are not necessarily things you would have at home, but can be easily found. It's a good start for anyone wanting to get away from some of the chemicals that pervade our daily life.

Good book but some of the ingredients are not as easy to obtain as the book says. Tried some of the makeup and it works well. Just happy that I can control what I put on my skin.
