Ok product for the price
I didn't expect much with the price, but didn't expect to break after the first couple days. Luckily I was able to fix it, but the know you tighten to keep the tablet from flopping around seems to always need to be tightened, and when you keep tightening, it eventually breaks off. I have had to fix this three times now. I ordered two, one for both cars, and i can't use it at all in my vehicle. So, I have a backup on for when the other one is permanently broken.

Dont waste your money
I purchased this on a Lightning Deal and I am very disappointed in the product. We have had it for roughly a month and used it maybe 4 times. The pivot joint never quite tightened enough to our Samsung 8 inch tablet upright but we were able to work around that. Then we went to use it the other night and as soon as I moved it to put the tablet in the pivot joint fell apart and the joint broke off the base that attaches to the seat. It is now completely unusable. Don't waste your money.**update - they mailed out a replacement quickly after I made this rating, no charge and no request. Which was awesome of them, and we've been using it now for the past couple of months with no issues. I'm not sure if it was a design flaw or possible user error during the use of the original but the replacement has been great.

BEST OPTION FOR IN CAR HOME THEATER CHEAP
The media could not be loaded. I bought two of these for the two Ipad mini's I have. One I have had for years. I purchased the second one used on Craigslist for $100 and it had T-Mobile Cellular data SIM card in it. Got the bright idea to buy 1GB of Data for $10 to experiment. It comes with HOTSPOT, so I have High Speed Internet access on both iPads. It worked so well, I now have 6 GB of data monthly, for $35 auto pay. Can change plan anytime. If I had to buy all this stuff at one time off Craigslist and Amazon, I could do this setup up for less than $500, and so can you. This is in my HHR. If you have a van, buy more devices, HOTSPOT supports up to five I believe. Each passenger will then be able to make their own choice. You can also download movies ahead of time and you wouldn’t need a data plan. I have learned to support my champagne desires on a beer income. These brackets for under $20 total made this whole setup possible. True, iPad was a bit loose by itself. I left the smart case on both with cover flipped back. Gave enough thickness to FIRMLY hold it in bracket and iPad's are ready to pull out when you take them out of the car.

Great solution for cars without DVD players or for mounting a tablet in the back seat
Let em preface this by saying my wife wasn't able to get this to work correctly on our trip because she was twisting the tightening mechanism the wrong way. It does seem like it should twist one way to tighten it, but it is in fact the other way. That's not a knock on the product, just take note of that if you are also having a hard time getting your tablet to "stay in place" once installed :)I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest review and I have to say it's quite handy. We have a DVD player in one of our cars, but not in the other. So this comes in handy to throw some movies on a tablet when we aren't in a car with a DVD player to keep the kids happy on a road trip. Just one less thing they have to handle and that tends to keep the table safer IMO.Installation is fairly straight forward and there were no issues there. Once the tightening mechanism was adjust properly, it help the tablet in position and had no issues. Based on how this adjusts, it would seem to fit a wide range of tablets which is quite nice. We were using a small kindle fire and it fit without any issue. I almost threw in my Tab 12.2 to see if it would fit but didn't get a chance to, although I honestly don't see it being a problem based on how wide this can open. So it would seemingly fit a very large array of tablets which is nice. The one improvement I would like to see is to spring load the part that holds the tablet so it's a little easier to open and remove the tablet. Since it's not, it's a little tricky to remove the tablet, not a deal breaker, just takes a little longer than I would like to remove the tablet. That's a small thing, but overall this is an excellent solution to mounting a tablet in the back seat. Here's a recap:PROs:- Easy to install- Hold the tablet secure (no more kids dropping tablets)- Can hold varying size tabletsCONs:- A little tricky to remove the tablet

1) Amazon is amazing about returns
After seeing a bunch of other reviews that said it was flimsy and fell apart I was hesitant to order but given that: 1) Amazon is amazing about returns; and 2) It's ten bucks; I decided to give it a shot.Got here yesterday and took about 10 minutes to install in my wife's Kia Sedona. Would have taken less but the instructions aren't particularly useful. My son is in a rear facing car seat and I was able to mount it facing forward on the headrest no problem. I clamped our iPad (in a rubber case -- didn't need to take that off) in it before attaching to the headrest and then clipped the thing on. With the fastening screws fully tightened (they have big plastic knobs you turn) the thing is in there rock solid. The big test was driving to a friend's house about 15 minutes away last night. Lately our son has been fighting getting into the car seat -- crying, arching his back, etc. I fired up Thomas the Tank Engine on the iPad and then went to him in. It. Was. A. Miracle. With eyes glued on Thomas he slipped right in. The entire ride he happily talked to Thomas, us (who knows, he's only 16 months) and when we got there he would have stayed right where he was if we let him!I just ordered another one for my truck. For $10 you seriously can't go wrong with it.

Its OK when it works
I Like this product, it was easy to fit and pretty easy to setup and of course does what it is supposed to.The downside is my 4 year old daughter unscrewed the unit by accident and without even trying, so within hours of fitting it ( and in the middle of a road trip ) we had a broken tablet holder. I think she may have been rotating the tablet. In the end I got it back together, after rummaging around for the parts on the car floor. Although once we got home I found another piece, so I actually did not put it together properly, but but that point I could not be bothered.I recommend locktiting the nuts on the rotating bit, which makes little sense since the product is 90% plastic or not letting you child to touch it.3 stars for ease of setup and the fact it worked well before it left bits rolling on the car floor.

Not as solid as it should be!
It does hold our ipad mini quite securely, even when it's still in it's survivor case. But... it's quite hard to get the ipad in and out of the grips once it's fitted. This does make it quite difficult to change the video by the front seat passenger once you've begun your journey (and this is quite a common request from a 3 year old sitting in the back). We've also found that when there is no ipad in the holder, the vibration of the car seems to loosen the ball joint and either make a really annoying rattle noise or just completely fall apart.I wouldn't recommend this product, and we've started looking at alternative solutions to our in car entertainment conundrum.

Good for the price but not good enough.
The product itself works and is relatively good but it's quite fiddly when trying to put it together and at times doesn't quite secure itself very well. One of the frustrating aspects is that it doesn't allow for adjustable depth which is something I didn't think of. When it came to putting the tablet in the device, I had to remove it from its case before attempting to secure it.For the price I paid, I can't complain but I would probably fork out a little more for something stronger and better.

Useless for Ipad use in a normal car situation
Bought to hold an iPad (which is quite heavy) in our car. Fiddly to assemble, and all plastic with no real strength. Confusing as it has to be mounted a certain way up. First time out the iPad rotated and slipped out, second time out the iPad fell out when the car went over a speed bump, third time with adjustments, the iPad fell out onto the floor, fourth time the whole adjustable part fell off and the tiny screw got lost somewhere. Useless for Ipad use in a normal car situation. Only works at standstill. Flimsy and poor design. Do not buy.

Good with a few exceptions
It's good wit the exception of the clip that allows you to adjust the grip it has on the iPad. As the clip is positioned on the rear of the bracket it is fiddly to attic the device. The other slight issue is the tightener for the angle adjustment. It is not quite solid enough. Having said all this however it is perfectly usable and does the job for the money. Great value
