Great short. Love the inside phone pocket
This is a great running short. The 5" length is perfect. There is an "inside" pocket on the Spandex-like inner short that is perfect for my phone, although since I have a "folio" style phone case, I have to take the case off for the iPhone 11 to fit in the slot. There is a stretch top lid over the pocket, so there's no danger of the phone falling out. It rides on your thigh, but it's not noticeable for me when I run.I have put approximately 500 miles on these shorts and they show absolutely no wear. They still look great, fit great, and perform great.I see that the price has gone up since I bought mine in April, but these are quality-wise comparable to any Saucony, Nike, or any other name-brand shorts that I've bought (and, I have a drawer full of them.)You will love these shorts. This is not an ad. I am not an employee. I'm a 60 year old runner who puts in 25 to 45 miles per week.

Great value and solid construction
If you are a compulsive runner like me, you probably have a drawer full of barely used race shirts and only a handful of useable shorts. Good 2 in 1 running shorts are expensive and the liners don’t last as long as we’d like. I usually buy UA or Nike shorts, but decided to give these a try as good running short options are limited. I was pleasantly surprised once they arrived. The fabric felt a bit heavy, but the construction was solid. They fit as roomy as Under Armor shorts when Nike runs smaller in my experience. The GU straps and extra pockets are a nice touch and so far they have held up well to hard use. I plan to buy more in the future.

Solid all-around short
Like others, a little apprehensive of the brand around sizing/fit and quality as I had never worn them before. Those concerns were quickly put aside as they turned out to be a great short that is very comparable to other name brands like Nike.I ordered the same size of short that I have in the past for basketball and cross training, and while a little snugger than those free flowing (as expected) the stretch in both the liner and short itself made for easy movement and great comfort all around. I’ve used these to work out in as well as lounging around the house and suited for both. I wouldn’t hesitate to wear to the beach or pool either, as the lightweight and material would dry quickly in the sun or breeze.Only major complaint is the “secret” pocket in the leg liner is much too small to hold most smartphones today. Maybe a flip phone would fit, but trying to get an iPhone in nearly ripped the stitching. The drawstring feels a little on the thin side, but still holds them up all day long. All in all, a solid option to the other higher priced name brands.

Great fit, technical training shorts with advanced features
Peak velocity is an amazon private brand. As I hadn’t tried out the apparel in retail outlets I was apprehensive about the overall fit and quality. I shouldn’t have worked. The shorts were very high quality, almost technical features like safe, deep side pockets, inner pockets, inner thigh support and all. The overall feel is very good too. I go out for long runs in this short and don’t feel chaffed. If I were to nitpick, I would ask for better waist draw strings / lace. They aren’t bad but could be better.

Improper design and poor materials and craftsmanship
There is something wrong with the lining and the shorts. The lining constantly pulls the back of the shorts down while your walking making for an awkward situation after about six steps. Constantly having to pull the back up over your butt. The material and seams are also subpar and feel like your wearing tissue paper and the seams were already coming out when I opened the package. I would return them if I had not already worn them on a run.

Great shorts but with two issues.
I got the 7" inseam and they are great. Compares very favorably to other "name brand" and other new-to-the-market shorts that cost 2-3 times more advertised all over social media. Used these while training for a triathlon (100miles of running a month). One issue is the cell phone pocket on the internal compression shorts.. Its on the front of your leg which seems like a odd place to have it and it barely fits by iPhone 8. If your phone is larger than my iPhone 8, IT WILL NOT FIT. The other thing is the back top center "pocket" I would not call it a pocket at all in fact. There is no closure or zipper. It is more like an open envelope. I would not place a car key, money or ID in this "pocket" as I would have no faith they stay in there. Really dont feel interested in testing the theory If you are buying these shorts because of either of these two "features" (the cell phone pocket on the inner compression shorts) or the back top center "pocket", I would move on to something else. Aside from these two issues which were not particularly important to me anyway, great shorts especially for the price.

Great quality for a great price…
I happened to get this pair on the same day I received a pair of Lulu Lemon shorts as a gift. The LL shorts were $65 compared to $20 for Peak Velocity and the shorts are very similarly made. As for longevity, time will tell, but these look to be well made and are very comfortable. I've used them running, stair climbing, elliptical, weight lifting, and spinning and have no complaints.

Great deal on great running shorts!
These shorts have many of the features of much higher priced brands. Rarely do you see regular pockets, zipper pocket, hidden pocket on the inner compression layer as well as a semi-functional rear pocket. That's really my only complaint with them, the rear pocket seems to be ok with longer items, but I'm not really sure what it's main purpose is. That said, the other features more than make up for it.
