My dogs give this 5 stars
I am very happy with this dog food purchase. It’s reasonably priced, my dogs love it and scarf it down instantly, and I have noticed that they are less flatulent from this. Their previous food was having a *less-than-pleasant* effect on their digestive systems and let’s just say it was starting to become unbearable to share a home with their…odours. So the nutrition quality is a vast improvement and they seem to be very happy with it. I also personally really like the packaging! My dogs are medium sized sighthounds and eat a lot (especially the whippet!) so small trays were fiddly and wasteful, and cans were a pain to open (my poor nails!) and also took up a tonne of space in the recycling bin. The boxes store in the cupboard easily and keep the food fresh for a long time. I’ve seen some reviews where others found the packaging to be fiddly to open, but my solution is to cut the box open at the halfway point with a sharp knife. Then I have breakfast and dinner portioned for my dog that gets half a box per meal, and I’m not ripping the skin off my hands to tear the box open. The whole box then fits in a small-ish food storage bag so it’s really easy to pop in the fridge until later. The food does smell of dog food and it’s not the prettiest colour, but it’s exactly what I would expect with dog food. My dogs love it, and if they are happy eating it, then I’m happy serving it :)

Stinky! But the dogs like it.
One of our dogs has been having some troubles with constant diarrhea and we think it could be an intolerance possibly to chicken, so decided to put her on a fish based diet. Our local supermarket only contained one tray meat that was only fish without other protiens added and it was not cheap, so decided to search online and came across Naturediet. I like that it has just a few ingredients. Also it was nice to see the company British and based quite nearby to us in East Anglia :) There are some reviews saying about the cartons being difficult to get the food out/portion out easily, however I did not find them a problem. As you can see from my picture, what I do is open the top, then cut the out the whole of one side. I cut it into 5 portions and use foil to cover back over and pop in the fridge. The food has still be absolutely fine after being opened 5 days being in the fridge. The fish variety is quite 'soft' and smooth in texture, it does help a little being in the fridge to firm it up just a touch more. The one negative thing is that they do have a rather noticeable, quite unpleasant smell. After reading through the other reviews prior to purchasing, others had mentioned also about this fact, but I thought perhaps they just meant it was a strong fish smell. However I was a bit concerned at first with an unusual smell that I can only really describe was like a combination of fish, a slight poopyness and a twang of chemicals! Yes, rather concerning, but I let the dog smell it (Labrador) and she started getting really excited and woofed it down without issue. She's been on this (mixed with Autarky grain free fish biscuits) for a while now and not had any troubles at all despite the strong smell, and her poops are now much better too, so she must be feeling a lot more comfortable now. We will keep her on this if the price stays good. Portioning it in 5 adds extra value for money and makes it last even longer. Would be interested if they make a fish-based variety pack.

Looked good and smelt fine too
I really feel when giving a review with this kind of product it's so important to be detailed and accurate. had been looking for an alternative 'paté' wet dog food for my Retriever who's had a sensitive stomach since a pup. We had alot of stress and high vet bills working out what the issue was, but found out it was dietary. We didn't want to go for vet food which contains garbage, and couldn't give him chicken because he was chicken intolerant. He had recently been showing dietary intolerance with his usual food that he was fine with for 3 years, (we have now sent off for an intolerance kit, apparently this can happen with their diets where they previously had been fine, they develop intolerance and we now need to start from scratch again) Fish and rice sorted him out for a few days but looking forward we needed to give him more nutrients. We found the NatureDiet fish variety and gave it a go. I read the reviews about the bad smell etc, and I honestly believe those reviews had a bad batch which can happen, as it did sometimes with our previous brand, no issue to get a refund or replacement. Anyway, I was nervous after reading the bad reviews as I was ordering an 18 pack, but honestly, the smell and look was absolutely fine, like fish and not like offal. The colour was a pale pink and texture was firm. Anyway, time will tell re his intolerance, but we gave him a 50% portion with his fish and rice and will do this for 3 days. (When starting new food I'm quite shocked by how many dog owners don't introunce the food gradually) He gulped it down, which was never the issue as he's quite greedy anyway. But what I appreciate is that the food smells like the main ingredient. I also like how it contains seaweed, which is excellent for trace minerals. I would definitely recommend this to give it a go. And take it slow too, to build up a transition.
