enjoyable and fast paced.
While certainly not the greatest of stories, this adaption of a popular hero and one of his newest classic arcs is enjoyable and fast paced.I almost found the Percy and Lydia storyline more interesting than Batman’s battle with the Court of Owls.Still, I enjoyed this read.

When an owl swoops in for the kill, it is silent. Deadly. It's natural prey...the bat.
The Court of Owls has had their thumb on Gotham for centuries; making selfish choices for Gotham's future behind the scenes, focused on increasing the power, wealth, and reach of the court. Their tool of influence? Terrifying assassins called...talons.This story tracks on two timelines; modern day Gotham and 1918 Gotham. The history lesson is enlightening, but the story behind a servant of the court, Percy Wright, is MUCH more illuminating. Batman finds himself racing against time, but with the fate of Gotham being sealed decades ago, his world-renown detective skills and terrifying physical prowess will be tested. This novel adds great depth to not just Batman's story, but the people of Gotham, and it's dark but beautiful history. There are reasons for saving Gotham and although they may be hard to see sometimes, to Bruce they are clear. Read this book to learn about the deadly Court of Owls and how Batman combats this centuries-old establishment.

Great Court of Owls Case
I picked this up because of the Court of Owls. I love that addition to the Bat-mythos; they're credible, believable, and interesting villains which - because they're a collective - can be believably faced / defeated over and over again. It hardly counts as Joker Immunity when multiple Grandmasters or Owls suffer defeat and are made to go away, even if the Court itself puts someone new in power and continues on.That being said, it took me a lot longer to read this book than I thought it would. That's because the first couple chapters are a bit slow and I got distracted with work things, but once I things really got going in this story they rocketed along.Ultimately this was a great case story. There are sci-fi elements - it's the Court with their undead Talons that have been resurrected with electrum and comic book science, so this shouldn't be too surprising - but it is ultimately a mystery. Greg Cox handles the characters well, though I would have liked to see more of Nightwing. All in all, this is a book that I would recommend, and it makes me likely to give the other DC Comics novels a try.

Not what i expected, but still good
This hardback Prose Novel copy of Batman: The Court of Owls by Greg Cox which minus some minor damage on the far right top cover, I mostly liked this novel and thought I was well written and interesting which explores some new things and has thrilling action scenes as well, thou not a straight up novelization of the 2011-2012 Batman court of the owls and city of the owls story-arcs from Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, so basically this is greg cox's version of Batman Court of the owls in my own option

Court of Owls
Excellent! This book flows so beautifully you don't want to put it down. I would love to see more on the history of Gotham. I recommend this book to anyone, comic book readers or not.

Bam! POW! Hoot!
If you want more Court of owls, this is a great follow up. Get your fix here. Better than expected and sets a high bar for other novelizations.

Revenge on the Court
A very good book. I wanted to give it 4.5 stars but it definitely deserved a round up instead of down. This book is more mystery solving, but Batman is know as the worlds greatest detective, and hebluces up to that title.Only a few enemies have taken Batman to his physical and mental breaking point like the Court of the Owls had. This book is set a few months after the awesome comic series. Now the Court is back and after someone Batman has a personal interest in. To help then Batman must look to the past, which could have huge implications for the future. The only reason I was hesitant to give this book 5 stars was because I would have liked more action I the book and had the book paced a bit faster in places. However I can see from the mystry/investigation point of view why a slower pace was necessary. Though I would not have minded Batman beating up a few more crooks along the way.The fight at the end where Batman did not have to restrain himself as the Talon could not be killed was great. The action in the book is quite grisly and in some cases final. I don't really like swearing in book, but a few cursed words used sparingly works well and adds some realism to the book. This is worthy addition to the Court of the Owls story line, and Batman's characters (along with s couple of Bat family members in this book) was spot on. Not quite as good as the original COTO story, but a very good sequel.

Excellent original story which fits well into existing continuity
This is a well-written and relatively dark Barman story which links back to Gotham at the beginning of the 20th Century. Batman feels for the first time in a long time like a detective in a detective story, with his intelligence and combat skills in full display. The author has the personalities of Batman, Alfred, Batgirl and Nightwing down perfectly and the story is interesting. Would love to read more Batman stories from Mr Cox!

Good sequel
Having read the Killing Joke novelization I didn't have high hopes for this at all but I was surprised. I was expecting a retelling of Snyder and Capullos work but this is a sequel which benefits from having the Bat family in which Snyder never seems will to use.
