Eureka PowerSpeed Cord Rewind NEU202

I highly recommend buying this vacuum. I've been buying Hoover products for years and decided to go back to Eureka. I like that it has a lot of suction, a retractable cord, a canister instead of a bag and is lightweight. Hoover has that too, but after making comparisons, I'm sure I bought the right product. It was easy to assemble and the price was great.

I really did not want to like this little machine. I have been die-hard Dyson for over twenty years. I currently own three and have purchased four in my lifetime. All $300 or more. Three of them specifically for pet hair. One is less than five years old and the trigger broke on the wand, which is necessary to go from hard floor to carpet....the other one has a broken agitator and it was purchased in 2020 or 2021, so it is useless on carpet. This little gem came out of the box quickly and I easily put it together. It made me sick to see how much stuff it picked up the first time I used it since I had been using inadequate machines for some time. For the price of this machine, I can easily replace it every other year and I would STILL be saving a ton of cash! It is easy for me to take it to the second floor. I had to lug the other brand. We have very long hair in addition to being pet owners. We empty the can every time and sometimes it needs to be disassembled to remove hair that is wound around the inside. It is one quick turn of the purple thing, and hair slides right out. It really amazed me how simple and effective it is.

UPDATE AUG 2025: going on 3 yesrs with this vacuum and still loving it. a couple more PROS to add * I've used *washable canisters before, but this one is so easy to clean. my upstairs vac has tight spaces and awkward pieces that hair and dust stick too, the EUREKA comes apart to get to any odd spaces. it looks brand new! * this is the first tangle free roller that has held up to its name. I pulled off the roller to check the belt (have yet to replace it, mostly because you have to remove screws to get to it) and it maybe had a couple of threads wrapped around it and some dust collected in the bristles. I have long hair, I have a daughter with long hair and NONE wrapped up in the roller. this vacuum has been so low maintenance, I bought one for my uncle's house. ORIGINAL REVIEW: bought this as a backup vacuum (or a "downstairs vac" - I'm done lugging one up and down the stairs). I needed one good on hard floors since most of my downstairs are tile, and I needed one good with pet hair ... the retractable cord is what pushed this model over the top. CONS: I'll start here because there aren't many. *not the least bit self propelled. pushing this vacuum over thick carpet is a workout *and it is old school built, no sharp turns or easy maneuverability. no big deal since I use it primarily on tile. PROS: I'll admit, they're very specific to my needs *not a whole lot of replacement parts to be concerned over ... a washable filter and a belt I think? easy to dump canister and clean up. *the retractable cord!! it doesn't have a super long cord, but I can't tell you how much I dislike winding the cord. this is a breeze. *the absolute best vacuum I have used on hard tile. there is no kickback on small hard bits (dry cat food, usually). the vacuum contains it without kicking it out from underneath and spreading the crumbs elsewhere. *doesn't blow pet hair around instead of picking it up. *and the oddest flex of them all ... the LED LIGHTS! I have a longer haired cat that sheds everywhere and is obvious. those hairs tend to clump together, but I also have a short haired cat that I would swear barely sheds, until I ran the vac in a dark room and the LEDs lit up EVERY SINGLE HAIR. I had no clue how much hair was on my tiles. I now use it, in near dark, to catch them all. I'll update if I have issues, but seems to be good so far.

Where do you start when something is this bad. Lightweight, yes it is, when you use the attachments/hose it is constantly falling over due to the lightweight nature of the unit. The hose for the attachments is too short. The bristles on the brush are also too short, rather than being a brush it is more of a scraper. The crevice tool is too wide, it needs to be thinner so it can actually get into a crevice. Once you remove the handle for the attachments, how are you supposed to move the vacuum cleaner around? What if you need to move it up or down the stairs while using the attachment handle, there is no way to pick it up if the handle is out and being used. The suction control on the end of the hose will not stay in one position, opened or closed, you are constantly losing suction. The cord being on the right side of the vacuum cleaner is always getting tangled up or in the way. Why did it get moved from the left side? The foot control to lower the unit for use is terrible. It feels as though you are going to break it by stepping on it and the loud snap it makes once it does move sounds as though you already have broken it. The dust cup inside the canister will become plugged with even the smallest piece of paper, greatly reducing the suction. It does pick up pet hair, which quickly gets caught and tangled in/on the dust cup, again reducing the suction. From the start the suction of the vacuum is/was O.K., but nothing great or spectacular. This vacuum cleaner feels cheap in every bad sense of the word. I would avoid this one at all costs, it is not a good vacuum cleaner and right out of the box it feels as though it will not last very long. The only good thing on it are the LED lights, they are good and bright, so you can really see what this vacuum cleaner is not picking up.

This product is not worth the money. Nor does there appear to be a warranty. Less than a year and the vacuum is already broken, blowing out dust instead of doing its job.
