This sketchbook is a great purchase for someone who sketches casually. The paper has a nice amount of texture and the size of each sheet lends well for both a single sketch on one page or multiple per page. I've never had an issue with pencils or erasers eating through the pages, as they are a bit thicker. The pencil lead I use does smear a bit, so I wouldn't necessarily use it for shading, as it would take more precision to execute properly. Even after using it for months and carrying it with me on a number of trips, the book is holding up fantastic. No pages have fallen out, and even the elastic band around the outside isn't stretched out (I use it to hold my pencil when I'm not drawing). I don't use this for finished pieces, but as a casual sketchbook, it works really well. This sketchbook is great for someone who is on a budget but likes the thicker, textured paper that many other sketchbooks don't offer.

I keep using these for art journaling. They're a nice weight, easy to toss into a suitcase for travel journaling, and the color of the pages is ideal for collage and mixed media work. The texture of the paper is fine for use with pens, pencils, and even fountain pens and rapidograph pens. The elastic band holds the cover securely in place, and while the book won't lay entirely flat (unless forced, maybe... I haven't tried), it stays open well enough to work on facing pages.

My favorite compact travel sketchbook. A great number of blank pages of quality paper, perfect size for travel. You can't go wrong with this sketchbook

I liked that this opened all the way so I could sketch in landscape over t pages if I wanted. I is made OK but I suspect pages will be falling out long before I fill it up. I do wish paper was a bit heavier as I like to add color sometimes to my sketches

Great journal for anything and everything. I am using it as my junk journal and it is perfect.

I just got this… got the shrink wrap off of it and the second I opened the book it came unglued from the spine. I’ll probably just hot glue it back together but it was kind of a bummer.

This is my go to sketchbook. I have several, each organized around a different fandom I enjoying drawing for. The covers allow for easy painting and customization to make a sketchbook truly your own, and the size makes portability great for sketching on location. While the paper isn’t meant for wet media, I still will use it — and I enjoy the slight warping of the paper it creates as it gives more character and texture to the drawings. The paper is nice enough to hold colors well in a variety of media (acrylic, water soluble ink, pencil) but not so nice you feel intimidated to have a less than perfect sketch in it. It’s my practice sketchbook when I’m learning new characters but also stands up well for polished scenes. The photos show my painted cover and a drawing done on location at Disneyland in mixed media. I love these to pieces!

I am very pleased with the quality of the notebook, despite some negative reviews. The cover is a sturdy cardboard, and I would say it's designed as a refill book to go into an additional cover. The outside spine is detached from the pages spine - but this is clearly part of the design. A few reviews were expressing dismay that their book had arrived damaged as the cover had detached from the spine. If you look at the products photos in the listing it shows the cover is not attached, there is also no glue residue on the cover spine so was not originally glued and came unstuck. Overall very please and happy to be giving as a gift.

I have bought a few of these. Good size and quality for getting sketches down. I've used ink in them and the paper does krinkle up but I use them for rough and ready work so perfect for that job.
