The sound is truly amazing from this price range
This guitar wasn't even on my radar. I'd been trying SG's and had my mind set. That is until I held and played this work of art. The weight, feel, and most importantly the ease of playing was far above my SG experiences. The sound is truly amazing from this price range. If your a lefty, there's not much to choose from so take this one for a test drive. The guitar is also beautiful, solid, and very high quality. Again, this is not a $3k Gibson, but I'm not recording and touring nor selling out venues either. It'll be in my stable for quite a while.

My 10 year old love's hers.
This is a very nice sounding and good looking guitar. The price was not bad and my Daughter loves practicing and playing it everyday. The action is perfect and her fingers are not sore from playing it as it was when she played her acoustic guitar. Being a lefty it looks like it was made just for her. Great color!

Really well made and sounds fantastic. Plus finding a left handed Gibson Les Paul with the options you want is not going to be easy or cheap. This is a fantastic compromise.

A dream come true for my boy! Only the strings were not the best quality, but hey, that's the least of our troubles.
A dream come true!

Good vibe axe
One of the best sounding guitars with one of the most comfortable necks I've played as a left hander. It's difficult to find a guitar that is set up properly and doesn't have any defects in the lower price rangers for a left hand guitarist in my experience. This Epiphone Les Paul speaks volumes to the quality control that must come out of their workshops, this thing plays like a dream. I did have to adjust the action after switching to a heavier string guage though and it rose the action a bit. Honestly slightly higher than what is considered low action I've found to a have a much richer and fuller tone and really shines on slides and vibrato. But if you're going for super compressed and buttery sweep picking metal-ish stuff you might have to get it professionally set up before switching to a heavier gauge. Overall this is the first guitar I've owned that I feel at home with and definitely the nicest playing and looking that I've owned.

Excellent Guitar
Just received mine. Much higher quality than I'd expect from a $500 guitar. The cherry sunburst color is just great - not too bright but it does look stricking. These pickups do give you the "Les Paul" sound -- thick, heavy, dark -- whatever you want to call it. I'm having fun exploring all the sounds you get from the new pop-up knobs that let you adjust either the humbucker or single coil. Also, the action was fine for me right out of the box. So far I've not experienced tuning issues that I read about in some of the other reviews of the older Epiphone Les Pauls.I'm an acoustic player (Martin DCPA4) and wanted to buy the Gibson Les Paul Studio but they don't make a left handed version. I didn't want to spend $1,600 for the Gibson Les Paul Standard so I shifted to the Epiphone because I still wanted the Les Paul sound. Wow! I'm very happy I ended up saving hundreds and still have a great guitar.

How do they do it for the price?
Great guitar. Fit and finish excellent. Well set up out of the box. It will get the best out of you and your amp. Don’t expect miracles!
