Haldiram's Classic Indian Gulab Jamun - 2.2lb

One of my good friends and coworkers just recently told me about Gulab Jamun. He spoke of these cheesy fried dough balls in syrup from his home country of Nepal, and talked about how good they are. Since Amazon has a plethora of items from all over the world, I grabbed the Haldirams brand and waited for its arrival - and I was not disappointed. With a very citrus-like aroma, the Gulab were decadent and rich from first bite to last. They are not exactly healthy for you, but I feel like the worse it is for you - the better it tastes! I thought that these were reasonable for the price - I believe it was 12-14 Gulab. There is a LOT of extra syrup (they are basically swimming in it) and I actually used the syrup for cocktails and other dishes that I was making to add a little sweetness and texture. All in all, I will definitely purchase these again for an event or to share.

Texture isn't 100% the same as fresh restaurant gulab jamnu but tastes exactly the same. Very good. Also it says to consume it the same day you open it but I live life on the edge, kept it in the fridge & ate them over 3 days with no problems.

Not the absolute best I've ever had but nothing to complain about. They were delicious and I would have no hesitation buying them again. Thankful to be able to get a product made in India. This is my favorite dessert so...ever so pleased.

I have 100% no idea how this is suppose to taste lol, however, while I like the syrup, the balls themselves were a bit weird for me. I'm guess it's cultural depending on how people are raised. I got this because I wanted to try new foods. That said, the shipment came on time, undamaged, and intact. The food tasted fresh...for being canned and having no idea how it should taste. The can was clean, not dented, not bloated, and not expired. While I won't get it again for a while because I'm not sure I don't like the flavors, it is from what I can tell decent quality and not bad. (there are worse things to eat out of a can that you don't know how to pronounce)

Don’t buy. Very sweet and not at all tastes like gulab jamun. Also, it says the contents of this package are to be consumed within a day of opening so you are gonna have to finish the entire box in one day. Sabe yourself some money because I couldn’t :(

I was doing great. Working out. Taking vitamins. Staying fit. Sticking to my diet. Then, my sister showed me that these are available on Amazon. The unique sweet taste fills the very core of these delectable morsels. Best when warmed. Delicious right out of the can. At the end of it, when the inevitable leftover syrup is present, mix it with rum and down it goes. It has a resealable lid, but advises to eat entirety in the same day, so make sure you bring friends.

I live in out skirt of UK and always missed desi sweets. I was very excited to see them in Amazon so gave it a try and guess what? It was bloody marvelous. Thank you.

Nice gulab jaman. Lots of syrup. Stores well in the fridge with the resealable top.

Although the sweet factor is exceptionally high, these are a tasty dessert.
