Wow, didn't know what we were missing.
Short review: excellent re-useable blocks that will definitely keep what needs to be kept cold, cold. (34-37F)Re-freezeable cooler blocks are all the same, not with these packs. Was a tough choice between the Tundra series and we bought both to test. These freeze at 33.8 F and they maintain temp excellently. In our so-so cooler on a 89F day these did well keeping foods cold. After 9 hours they were about 40% liquid state but the blocks measured 34.2F.In the Polar Bear bag, these went 14 hours and when pulled to be cleaned and charged up again, they were at about 70% liquid state but still measuring at 36F. The bag had been opened many times during the day where ambient temps were 92F and the trunk was much hotter. For keeping foods and beverages at fridge temps, 34-37F these Alaskan series are just right. As their web site notes, they do maintain excellent stable temp at almost near fully liquid state.I rely on these as the base liners because they are stable hours on end. They also help regulate the other packs because at the freezing point, fruits, veggies and other foods would not tolerate such cold temps. The other packs as they come up in temp to 38F is fine for sandwiches, salads and like. The stability and arranging packs appropriately keep the contents of the coolers right for our uses. Our freezer is set at 2F. These Alaska series freeze within hours if at 50% liquid. Fully liquid/ no cooling ability left, the 2.5# blocks take about 10-12 hours to fully freeze. The smaller ones require less time to freeze. The Tundra series 2.5# blocks take 2 days to fully freeze and they maintain 4-7F temps. Items in contact with the blocks will freeze on contact within moments. If you want to freeze or maintain a frozen item, the Tundra series are the ones to use.Glad to have come across these excellent products. :) They may cost a bit more but they are well worth it for temp stability.

Does avoid the water issue thats is about all
Bought two of these and two of the purple ones. Both take longer than blue ice to get frozen. Had to turn down the freezer to .make them solid. Waited two days and put them in a precooled Engle cooler, which compares to a Yeti. I found that they would last about 24 hours before they returned to liquid. They are smaller and if space is an issue they might be a good deal for a lot less a couple of blue ice packs making slightly more volume do as well.Sadly my rv freezer would not freeze these. Resorted to using the nordic ice bags that ship with medicine. They fit the rv freezer and froze solid in 24 hoursI am now trying to keep veggies cool in the Engle looking for less than 60 degrees. 4 of these unthaw in 24 hours and the house is only 80 degrees F. The blue ice works as well.

I like everything about these!
I had purchased 8 of the 5lb and 4 of the 2.5lb. These things are great! They stay cold longer and are alot heavier duty than the similar offering out there. I make a point of recommending them to others they are so good. I did have some trouble with a couple of them, they were the original design that had a fault, but the company re-designed them and was quick to replace them for me. Kudos to them. I can't say enough good about the Artic Ice!

Works hard
This item really keeps items colder longer and takes up less space. Kept my cooler contents cold for 5 days and still were frozen and ready to use.
