DO NOT PURCHASE THIS -- Missing books!
DO NOT purchase this Bible. I got it as a gift for my granddaughter and as I looked it over today (I was giving it to her tomorrow), I noticed that pages 1203 - 1266 are missing! That is the ending of Matthew, the entire book of Mark, and the first sixteen chapters of Luke. I had already written her name in the front, so I can't ask for a refund. This is a totally unacceptable product. Shame on you, Zonderkidz!

Beautiful Bible!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I LOVE THIS BIBLE! This is the only bible I will purchase for my kiddos. My son has 2 (boys style), one at home and one at school. I've attached a quick video to show you all the beautiful details. The color and pictures keep their attention without making it a baby bible or taking away from the purpose of the bible. The bible is standard size, durable leather, and beautiful purple. The theme on the front of the bible isn't baby, and can grow with my daughter.

Great Bible with lots of added information (theology studies) for little ones and parents as well.
I highly recommend this Bible for kids aged as young as Kindergartners. That is when we got this for our son and the NIrV translation has really helped us as parents to help him grasp the message of the Bible. For memory verses it takes but two seconds to look up the NIV or KJV versions on google, so we have no qualms in that regard.I initially got this Bible for him due to the 3D cover, and cool/adventurous portrayal of the Bible. Now that I have come to my senses, I am so glad that the inside consists solely of the word of God with some added thoughts for insight per page. This is truly what I want, not a Bible with some frills and thrills that will appear cool to a kid. Having said that, there are colors splashed all throughout the Bible. I have posted some pictures to help explain this. I feel these don't detract from the passages read though. Our son reads the passages with us and then turns to read through and think about these splashes of color afterwards for discussion.Things I love about this Bible in particular:1. There are 16 full color pages that explain things specifically to children such as the 10 commandments, 1 Corinthians 13's passage on love rewritten. These are separate pages that are interspersed throughout the Bible, they do not replace the actual passages.2. The full color maps at the back of the Bible. There are 7 pages of these that cover The World of the patriarchs, Exodus, the 12 tribes, Kingdom of David+Solomon, Jesus' Ministry and a 2 page spread on Paul's missionary journeys.3. Each book of the Bible starts with a page that discusses where that book happened, who wrote it, etc. I LOVE this section. Even mom and dad have learned a lot from this :) This information touches on what I studied when I studied theology in college.4. There are some devotionals/activities (such as the one pictured in the "Live It!" section under 1 Samuel) that teach character to little ones and in a way they can actually apply and understand them. As a mom charged with raising a man of God in the future, these are immensely helpful to me!

Great Bible for young readers
We were looking for a complete Bible (all the verses, not just selected Bible stories) for my daughter and this was perfect. She is six years old, but can read at a higher level. We wanted something she could easily read on her own and the simplified NIrV version makes it easier for her to understand as well. The extras/side notes also help make the Bible fun and engaging to read. I would definitely recommend this Bible and version as a first “full” Bible for elementary-aged children.

Beautiful, easy to read Bible. Perfect for my 6 year old!
I bought this Bible for my daughter to use during homeschool and during church services. She is a very good reader and this translation is perfect for her. It's jam-packed with useful information, age-appropriate rendering of the text, and colorful illustrations. The girl and boy in the pictures vaguely resemble my children, so that's an added bonus. It's nice to see my baby girl light up when she grabs her Bible. I'm so happy I found this Bible. I can't wait until my other children are old enough to receive their own copies of the Bible. I'll be buying more of these in the future!

Graduating from Picture Bibles
Same Bible with sort-of simplified words. If you want to see the difference between NIrV and NIV, visit biblegateway.com. There's a pull down menu with different translations/versions and you can compare verses. My four-year old is an early reader and I wanted to get her a Bible so I thought this would be a good option. She actually loves carrying her Bible around and the idea of having one, more so than actually reading it and definitely needs me to help explain concepts and words. The only complaint is that the memory-verses she learns at church or the ones I teach her are different versions/translations than what's in the book. I would not buy this again for my other kids but will stick to NIV for that only reason. Other than that, it's legit and the little colorful boxes, and side "things to think about" and pictures help break up the Bible for someone who's gone from picture Bibles to the real deal.

Full Bible in beginner reader friendly translation!
Full Bible! Not just a collection of stories. This is a fantastic Bible for a young reader. I got this for my kindergartner who is reading short chapter books. I think it will be a little challenging for her, but she will be able to read some of it. I love that she has a whole Bible that is more accessible to her than a standard adult Bible. It is a wonderful translation and I love the extras, like the memory verses that stand out and the historical backgrounds and information on various people. All of these are kept short and sweet, but not dumbed down.

Print is small
I know the Bible would be huge if the print was large but it would be nice if it was a little bigger. Since the Bible is for my 7 year old it should be okay - but with my old eyes it is a strain to read it. I guess I will need to get some reading glasses. It is a nice Bible, great pictures and I think he'll really enjoy reading it. One thing I had looked for in the review section before I purchased this was if Jesus's words were in red. They aren't - in case you are wondering too.

Lovely, accessible childrens' Bible.
We LOVE this Bible for our kids! We bought it as a gift for our 8yr old son, but my 6yr old daughter has one too. Written in simple language means they can both read with ease (both good readers) and understand it, but stays faithful to Biblical text. The bright illustrations and word explanations are great too. Both of them have enjoyed having their own Bible and feel more confident to join in with family devotions etc. I'd definitely recommend as a first actual Bible for 6-11yr olds, but younger if you wanted to read to them first.

Great Bible!
Great Bible. Fantastic to have the whole text of an adult Bible. The pictures and all the added extras are priceless. My 7 year old said it was easy to read and much easier to understand. Ideal first proper Bible.

Perfect as a gift or for day-to-day study
Not quite the same as the two-tone print, I don't know why they've changed the text. Now I have two two-tone prints with very easy to understand language and four colourful ones with slightly different translation....All-in-all I am happy with the Bibles I've purchased for home Bible study for our children. They have the Bible text in English they understand, maps, graphs, applications, fact-boxes and memory verses scattered through the pages, explanation, background and summary before each book, character summaries - it is great!

Great bible, wrong colour
I ordered thinking my bible would be like the one pictured - blue with a turtle on the front. Instead it was pink with a butterfly on it. Thankfully, my son doesn't mind, but it was not made clear that the product shown was not the one being dispatched. Neither is there a colour option in the ordering process (at least there wasn't when I 'One-Click' ordered). As regards the content of the bible it's great. Language which my six year old can mostly understand, without being babyish, patronising or too loose in its translation. The fact boxes and activities are useful and fun.
