Eugene Onegin, Tschaikowsky (Kalmus Edition) Review: Doesn't have romanized Cyrillic, alas - I ordered this because our local opera company is doing a production of Eugene Onegin. I am not in the production but am an active board member who does the pre-curtain talks for some of the performances, so I have been going to rehearsals. The vocal score itself is fine in terms of the piano reduction of the orchestral score. But a big drawback is that the sung text is only in Russian (using the Cyrillic characters) and in English. It would have been helpful if the Cyrillic had also been romanized, that is in western letters. But even more bothersome is that there are no rehearsal numbers or even bar numbers. It makes it difficult to discuss with others, during the rehearsal process, 'where we are' or 'where we will begin', etc. For these reasons I can't really recommend it except for those who already read the Cyrillic (Russian) alphabet and have no need of markers for locations in the score. Scott Morrison Review: Good value and print quite clear.

This is what I expected. The quality of the binding however seems to be very poor. I'm not sure it will tough enough for a signer who has to work a lot with his score.
