Great but will warp a little causing the door to not close properly. Pick your install location to plan for that.
Due to an odd dryer install location we had to vent straight up through the roof in a way that would require me to go up there to clean the vent periodically. That was quite awful. I saw some other reviews stating that it would melt and the door wouldn't stay closed. My door has just started to not stay closed now. I purchased on 03/03/2017 and it's now 11/20/2017. I installed in a location that was easy to get to for cleaning above my dryer so I just keep a bottle of fabric softener in front of it to hold the door closed now. I'm still giving it 5 stars though because it was a pretty cheap item that saves me so much hassle. I'd buy a new one every month if I had to. It would probably be best to use a lower heat setting on the dryer and maybe install it at least a few feet from the dryer so it doesn't melt. I would love it if it was made with a little beefier plastic/polymer so that it wasn't an issue at all though.Update: I came up with this door "latch" solution from stuff I had around the house. Two 1lb command hooks and a rubber band. :P. Working so far. See photo for reference.

Good lint trap
I live in a townhouse where my driver vent exhausts to the roof. Several times a year I have to clean the pipe out to keep my drier running efficiently. This little lint filter could eliminate me from doing that anymore. You would think the dryer would catch most of the lent but it doesn't.I was supprised at how much lent it collected the first time my wife used it.The door latch is a little flimsily so I used 2 sheet metal screws and a rubber band to secure it better.

Great product! Highly recommended
I love this! After cleaning the dryer vent duct again (actually replacing - easier than trying to clean the flexible duct) I tried this and it works well. Easy to install, no problem with the door popping open as some report, or with plastic distorting (electric dryer) I've been thinking of adding another one above this one, which my wife thinks is silly overkill, but she isn't the one dealing with the duct. Photos show amount of lint after one wash load being dried.Update: I did buy another duct lint trap just to satisfy my own curiosity. The second trap caught just a few wisps of lint, showing the first one really does a great job.

Might still work out fine. Much easier to go into the attic and ...
Plastic is cheap looking, but it all works as advertised. I have a long vent that runs 15ft up into the roof and the vent up there gets clogged(chicken wire around that vent to keep the animals out) even with the dryer vent in the actual dryer unit installed. I put this vent in line so I no longer have to get up on the roof. I am also using a booster that was already installed when I bought the house that boosts the air flow up to the roof.If I had to do it again, I would have probably spent the extra money on the metal version of this vent, but we will see how this holds up over time. Might still work out fine.Much easier to go into the attic and clean this vent out than up on the roof a of a very tall two story house!

A decent option if you need a lint trap
Our dryer is in the front of the house, but it vents out the back of the house due to the terrain, etc. ... through about 30-35' of vent piping. And our dryer does a really lousy job of catching lint. Bad combination. I should have gotten smart long ago, but I was stubborn and just blew it out with the leaf blower from time to time when the dryer performance deteriorated. However, recently the vent line became completely clogged, but my wife didn't realize it, so she just kept running the dryer over and over (and probably using some bad language). I can't verbalize how thankful I am that it wasn't worse than some damp clothes and some condensation dripping from the vent line in the basement.I chose this model of lint trap as the lesser of the available evils (based on reviews), and I immediately modified it with (1) something to keep the door closed and (2) some weatherstripping on the screen frame, both thanks to other reviewers herein, and it is working quite well. As at least one other reviewer posted, we get almost as much lint out of the trap as we do off the dryer lint screen! For those who are curious, yes, it's a pain to have to bend over to clean the screen in our installation, but I didn't want to add any more pipe to an already long vent run, and so far my wife isn't complaining. All in all, it was a good purchase.

If you have lint in your dryer vent or your clothes are taking too long to dry, you really need this.
Our dryer vent pipe layout has several right-angle turns before it emerges outdoors, which led to perpetual clogging with lint, which in turn greatly lengthened the amount of time necessary to dry our clothes.I bought and installed this unit and it was like a dream come true. All of our clothing dried much more quickly because we were able to keep the vent pipes cleared simply by popping up the clear top on this unit whenever its screen became covered with lint.I know it's hard to get excited about a lint trap, but this really made a difference in our daily lives. The only possible down-side is that in order to install the lint trap it is necessary to move the dryer out from the wall far enough to allow the lint trap to fit. If your dryer connects straight onto a vent pipe coming straight out of the wall this may not work for you. Otherwise, if your dryer is taking too long to dry or your vent pipes are clogging with lint, this is a must-have item.I have no business or personal relationship with the maker or seller of this item; I just found it to be a simple solution to a vexing problem.

Happy with quality. Works like it should.
I was worried about this product considering the complaints about it being bad quality. There were other traps that looked like this but were more expensive so the quality complaints seemed legit. Upon opening it I didn't notice any issues with it. For $20 its a good deal and works like it should. I installed this and was surprised how much lint actually passes the dryer lint trap. I don't plan on parking a car on it so I think I should be fine with normal use.
