Living World Dome for Small Animals, Hamster Hideout, Blue, Small, 61380

They are pretty large

I purchased a couple of these Living World domes (igloos) for my daughter’s robo hamster in size small. (I wanted to purchase just one, but there is a minimum order quantity of 2.) Colors vary; I received red and blue (solid, not translucent). The igloos seem quite sturdy. Although they are “small,” at 6" x 5.7" x 3.3”, they are plenty big for my daughter’s hamster. I don’t know if it was necessary, but I had my husband drill a few air holes in each igloo in case the door gets filled up with shredding from the cage. These domes are made in Malaysia.

We made one of these using an old cup and it was far too small. For the price these are great! Only downside was they required 2 minimum where we only needed one. Still the cost of 2 on amazon was cheaper than 1 locally so I figured we would not be hurt getting a spare for an extra $3

I purchased a set of these, I had to buy 2 for the price, in hopes of giving them to our Winter White Hamsters. Unfortunately when they arrived they were larger than I expected.I expected something closer to the size of the teeny tiny sized igloo hide when in fact this was a size above that and closer to the size of the small igloo hide, maybe a bit between. My Winter Whites tend to like smaller hides than this so I've set them aside for my Syrian hamsters instead.If you're looking for something small for a dwarf hamster I wouldn't recommend this one unless your dwarf hamster likes larger hides. It's a nice sturdy piece though, well made, not too thin, easy to clean. The plastic isn't clear like igloos so you can't really see IN it-I'm one of those hamster moms that likes to see that all is well even if my babies are sleeping.

We have 2 mice and they were fighting over the one house, so I decided another house. I found these and thought they would be little but they are not a small like the Kaytee Small Houses. This was big enough for both boys and no more fighting. So while it wasn’t what I was thinking it would be, it still worked out.

I had an igloo shaped hideout for my guinea pigs originally  Super Pet Guinea Pig Igloo Hide-Out, Large, Colors may vary .However, my boys (I have 2 piggies) frequently overturn their hideout. With the igloo shape, and the castle shape as well I imagine  Penn-Plax® Guinea Pig Castle Hide-Away®, Large , the raised sections in the top get dirty (on the inside) while it is overturned and they are very hard to clean out. As the top of of the Living World Dome is flat, the inside is much easier to clean. It also makes better use of limited cage space by not having the entry tunnel that the igloo and castle have. It is taller than those products too in the center, they are the same outside height but that includes their aforementioned raised sections so the piggies have less height to actually move around in when inside those hideouts. With this Dome's greater usable height, my piggies overturn this hideout less often. The only thing that would make it better would be if it were heavier so it would further resist overturning. It is still the best product of its kind available!

These little huts are so nice! They fit perfectly in her cage and she loves hiding in them!

It works great. But I was sent 2 red. I didn't send it back not worth the hassle.

I'm always wary of buying large small animal huts as they're never large enough for my huge ferret! He's a big boy & while sometimes the actual huts have been tall enough to accommodate him, the entrances have been too small for him to get in. Consequently, he puts his head in the doorway & thinks it's a game to start flipping the huts all over the place! My 3 ferrets live in a 6'x4' chicken house so I know they've got plenty of room to play, but I'd like to know why George always seems to end up leaving the upturned houses over their food or water bowls lol. Once he's got them there he never wants to play with them anymore!I was so please & impressed when this dome arrived! I knew he wouldn't be able to do it with this as soon as I got it out of the box. The stickers (2) came off the dome really easily, I didn't have to soak them, they came off in 1 piece, no bits of glue left over, or anything. I was able to wipe it over with a dettol wipe & put it straight in there! The entrance was quite reasonable for the size of the dome, sorry I forgot to measure it before I let George get his paws on it. To put it into perspective, George cannot use the smaller critter tunnels, you know the 1s that expand & 'screw' together to make longer tunnels, he has to use the medium tunnels because he's so big. I know the next size up are called bunny warrens. So he must be the size of a small bunny. He can stand on his hind legs to reach the top but it's not at a stretch. As you may be aware, ferrets are long thin animals tat you can usually put your hand around their chest, under their front armpits to pick up & your fingers will usually meet. With George my fingers don't meet he's that big! I'm 5'4" & the dome comes up to my calf!It's made of thicker plastic than the other huts I've had for my ferrets. I compared them while I was out there so it could've been that the older huts were more brittle having been exposed to the elements & this dome was new. I can't remember being this happy about the size & thickness of the plastic about the other huts though. I'm even thinking of buying another large dome & a medium dome for my other 2 ferrets who live with George because of how pleased & happy I am with this dome. It definitely feels much better quality than the other 2 that are left. I bought this to replace George's hut as he'd chucked it around so much, he'd been splitting the rim around the bottom for a few months which I'd been able to snap off, the final straw was when he made a massive split in the top of the roof!Cassie & Rain's huts are medium & small to suit their size because they do like to hide away when they're eating. They grab a mouthful of food, make a run for their hut, eat & repeat. The only problem has been that since they've got to full size, their bums stick out of the entrances lol or in Rain's case just her tail as she's tiny. Then George blunders along & tips their huts upside down so they can't do that anymore so they scuttle upstairs with mouthfuls of food, squirrelling some away as they go along!It took George days to upturn this dome! The dome only has a small flat disc at the top, so there wasn't too much roof for George to keep it up the wrong way. I'm hoping that if I get another large & a medium dome, there won't be enough room for him to turn them all upside down, Cassie & Rain will then be able to eat in peace & George can do what he wants with his 1. I'm hoping that Rain will go back to playing with her ping pong balls inside her hut too as she used to love doing that until George got into his head the idea of turning the huts upside down lol. A medium dome of this make should be bigger than a large hut of any other make that I've come across before!

Quite diappointed with this product. I bought it knowing I might not get a great colour, as it does say colours may vary. However, I am quite diappointed that the item doesn't quite match the images in the advert. The plastic appears translucent in the advert, and this is the whole reason I bought it because I thought I would be able to see if my hamster was inside it, however the product I received is completely opaque. Furthermore, the product in the advert appears to have a clear window - again this is not the case with the one I received- the window area is just thinner coloured plastic but in no way are you able to peer through it. I don't know if I just got unlucky with the colour I received (bright neon green) but definitely not what I expected.

It is too small for my large lop rabbits so I have requested a refund. However I wish we could keep it as the quality is really good. Good for a play shelter, indoors or out. I received one red and one blue and they are lovely.

Bought 3 for my rabbits they love them in there run easy to clean value for money sturdy as well will be buying again
