ALASKA BEAR Luxurious 25 Momme Silk Pillowcase, 100% Mulberry Silk Pillow Case Cover, Standard (1, Cream)

I hesitate to leave a poor review but what's the point of reviews if I'm only leaving the positive ones? I bought about 6 different silk cases from different companies to try to find a match for a set I already had, and in the mix I also bought a brand that made a particular silk-tencel blend. Well, when I had them all laid out side by side and felt the touch, looked at the sheen and noted the unique flexibility of the way the fabric moves and drapes, I have to admit that the Alaska Bear cases had the exact same characteristics as the silk-tencel blend, most distinctly. They did not have the same characteristic of the 100% silk cases I already had or some of the other brands that I feel were also 100% silk. I see that there are plenty of positive ratings for this Alaska Bear brand case and maybe I'm wrong - I don't know if there is a lab or test to determine what a material actually is made of, but this is my HONEST review. In a sense it's not even that important if it's 100% or a blend, the fact is, the characteristics did not feel to me nearly as nice as my original silk cases or another brand that duplicated that same look and feel. Maybe it's the way the threads are woven or dyed. Maybe not all silk is created equal.

It is literally everything I wanted in a silk pillow case. Honestly, I mostly wanted it because I prefer the cool side of my pillow and a silk pillowcase keeps all sides of the pillow much cooler to the touch all the time. This accomplishes that goal perfectly. The only complaint I have, and it's a minor one, is that nowhere on any tag on this pillowcase does it actually list the momme weight. Now, I have no reason to believe it is not as advertised. However, I did seen many times on different seller's reviews that the product received by people didn't match the momme weight advertised, so, it seems to be a relatively common practice by sellers of silk pillowcases to over state the actual momme weight. I reiterate, I have no reason to think that the pillow case I got is not what was advertised; I just wish that the tags on the actual pillowcase stated a momme weight so I knew for sure. That being said, I am pleased with my pillowcase and have been using it every night since I got it.

This is the 3rd time I’ve purchased this pillowcase. The first two were amazing and real silk.I just purchased this new one and, as a textile artist I know silk, this is NO LONGER real silk. I did the burn test just now, and it melted (which means it’s plastic not natural fiber). Horrible!

Compared to my *famous brand* silk pillowcase, this item was disappointing. I ordered three, two in the standard size (pink, charcoal) and one in king size (silver gray). I feel that with three different colors and sizes, I had a good sample of the product. These pillowcases do not have the same "slip" finish as the famous brand and are thinner. I do not mind the thickness as much as I am disappointed they are not as slippery. Had these been at a lower price, or had two pillowcases rather than one - I would have left more stars. At the price I paid (which was more a few days ago than they are listed for today), I am very disappointed in the purchase.

I've been using this pillowcase for a couple of months now. I like the feel of the silk on my face. I'm not sure if I see a difference in lines on my face, I'm sure that is a long term benefit, if anything. I think it is benefiting my hair, it doesn't feel as dry in the morning after sleeping on this pillowcase.If it weren't for the mediocre quality, I'd give this 5 stars. The fabric is pretty thick. It's nice that it has a zipper, but the zipper isn't quite as long as the end of the pillow, so I have to shove my pillow in through the opening to get it inside. The zipper could break while doing this, though I've been careful, so mine hasn't yet. I have hand washed and air dried this a few times and it seems to hold up pretty well. There are a few small threads coming loose from one corner, but no holes yet. I know how to sew, so if it opens up, I'll just stitch it up.Overall, I like this pillowcase for the price. I feel that is a good value for silk.

I like how soft this product feels. I have tried various silk pillowcases from different stores and price points like Walmart and BB&B. This is by far the softest feel silk pillowcase I’ve owned. I’ve washed it in the washer and let it air dry and it still feels fabulous. I don’t like how if you get hot when you sleep, this pillowcase (and other silk pillowcases) has a sticky feel to it. Also, if you wash your face and wear thicker moisturizer or overnight face masks, they also absorb into this pillowcase and leave it with a sticky feel during sleep. Maybe not a good idea on my part, but still part of my routine. That’s why it’s nice this product withstands washing.

I’ve tried to love these, but they’re a bit too matte to be silk. Previous to using these pillowcases, I used my polyester VS robe to sleep on which looks like silk and left my hair so soft. I thought I’d have better results with these pillowcases. I was debating on ordering a gray set because I’m curious to see if maybe I just received a bad batch, but too afraid I’ll be disappointed.

I really like this super soft pillowcase and have noticed a difference in my hair. I have naturally curly hair and normally wake up with a dense knot in the back of my head, but with the silk pillow it's more like a couple small tangles instead of a hard rat's nest. I wash it in a laundry bag on delicate and it dries in just a couple hours on the rack. It does wrinkle.

Am not impressed - the pillow case is cheap polyester, not silk as stated, I had bought one previously and it was lovely - this one is not - i have messaged the seller but no response - not happy!!

L estetica è d bell impatto..ma se guardate la foto noterete che dopo aveci dormito sopra apoare macchiata dai segni del mio volto( che era pulitissimo oltretutto). Non v è nesssunisssssima indicazione che certifichi sia seta pura. Con quel che costa mi aspettavo maggior rispetto per il cliente. Vi arriva in una busta trasparente..nessuna indicazionesui materiali e tanti saluti. Delusa

I bought some silk pillowcases as my hairdresser advised that it does help with protecting your hair and on further investigation there is some belief that it is healthier for skin as well. Out of the ones I purchased, this one is so far my favourite. I really like that it has a zip so that the pillow doesn't slip out. For what ever reason, my pillows all start to come out of their cases, this was just something that I liked. The colour is a perfect and probably slightly darker than I thought, but that actually suited me. It is so soft and cool. I didn't have to flip my pillow once during the night as I didn't wake up feeling hot. After one night, I am already feeling more rested simply because it kept me cooler.

Only had these a week and already noticed the difference with my hair in the mornings! Medication has taken its toll on my hair lady 2 years and it breaks easily. Noticed a huge difference already with this pillow case. They wash up lovely. Purchased in ivory and silver. Would highly recommend.

Wow, I didn't expect these pillowcases to be as good as I'd heard, but they were and more. I have MS and don't sleep too well but these have made such a difference - they're so comfy and, as a bonus, my hair has never been so shiny. Cotton takes so much moisture out of your hair but these actually seem to put it back. Birthday presents for friends now sorted!
