I recently tried this washing machine cleaner, and I'm very impressed! It’s easy to use with both top and front-load washers, making it super versatile. Each of the three packets is perfectly portioned at 150g, providing a thorough clean for each wash. After using this descaling powder, my machine’s drum and tub looked noticeably cleaner, with all residue and odors gone. I love that it maintains my machine’s efficiency and leaves it smelling fresh. Does the job, better but costlier options available

My washing machine is a top load, old Samsung. It had a lot of white deposits on the sides of the drum and dirt clogged in the drain at the bottom. As per the instructions, I put the powder (1 full pack) in the drum and let the washing machine work on Eco Tub clean mode. I had to heat a bucket of water and put that in as well because it said to use water at 60°C and I don't have warm water cleaning option in my machine. 90min later, my washing machine is SPARKLING CLEAN with some dirt and fluff on the bottom. I ran it again on Rinse+Spin cycle for 15min (as instructed) and it was completely 100% clean!! And it even SMELT clean. I had to take the filter out and clean that myself as well as the detergent dispenser but considering that this was mainly for the drum, I'm REALLY, REALLY happy. I clean the washing machine once or twice a year and this works perfectly for me. I honestly didn't think it would make SUCH a difference!! I am really happy with it. I got 2 packs in this. Original MRP is 398/- but got it for 280/-. Would really recommend it, especially if you live in a region with hard water because it's hard to get rid of the scales and mineral deposits on your own.

Why does our washing machine drum shine? ● Drums are generally made of stainless steel but to make it more lustrous, manufacturers coat it with Chromium finish through electroplating mechanism. ● This is the same chromium finish which causes the washroom faucets look more appealing & shiny. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Review: "It does more harm than good" - ● Yes, the powder removes all the limescale off the drum, gradually or instantly both. ● No doubt, the drum will start to look more shiny because the limescale has been removed. But there is a big catch too - ● This powder will corrode the chromium finish of the drum. (to know more, please google, "Metal corrosion due to acid") ● → That means over time & very soon, your drum will start to loose its shininess and it will start to look quite dull. You try everything in the world (except industrial electroplating) you won't get back that shininess again, ever. ● You buy this powder to clean your drum (expecting the drum to become as it was before) but each use of this powder will make your drum look even worse. To inspect in the initial days, you need to look closely, though, with frequent usages, it will come out in your eyes by itself. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Attached image. ● To illustrate it better, I made a water-based (TDS 20) solution of little of this powder and sprinkled it over a small area of a washroom wall-mixer faucet, the attached image, you can see those white spots. As indicated, you need to trust me on the fact that those spots are not at all the water spots which the water could have left when dried. Those spots are actually corroded-chromium finish. The damaging of the chromium finish due to acids begins like this. ● In the past, I've borne several losses & frustration (once your chromium-faucets are corroded, they can't be restored) hence it urged me to share this incident with you so that I can help you avoid such mistakes & prevent such losses. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A little chemistry that you already know - ● Limescale is highly alkaline & to remove it safely, we need to use a mild acid material (to prevent the corrosion of the metal). ● This powder is also an "Acid" form. ● To test this fact, please perform a very simple Turmeric based water solution test. Dissolve a little of this powder in the turmeric solution. If the solution changes its color to reddish, that indicates that the powder is an Acid. You can cross verify its tendency to change the color by performing the test with lemon/vinegar into turmeric solution too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hope this was helpful.
