I was really impressed when I installed this because just one held up my hood on its own easy, even pushed it the rest of the way up as I was raising it. Then one day after driving around I needed to check my fluids so I raised my hood again and was really confused that it suddenly was not holding. Then after shutting the engine off and letting everything cool, tried it again and firm hold once more. Not sure if that's typical with hood struts to fault when exposed to engine heat after so long or it's just a bad product but yea, that happened

My post shows p/n’s that are correct.
As mentioned this part does not fit a 2008 Mercury Sable. Engines Stores states you need StrongArm p/n 6753. StrongArm web site shows D6753. I purchased a Stabilus p/n SG304093 and it fit and worked perfectly.

Quality Product
I bought two of these, naturally, one for each side of the hood. They were compatible for my 2002 Mercury Sable, and were very easy to install. I wondered why they were shipped separately, but there was no increase in cost. Packaging was a little different for each one, but product was protected and received by me undamaged. These lift supports really do the job and hold the hood up, just like the original equipment. Time will tell how long they last. I am well pleased with this product.

These had no problem with the very heavy 2000 Mercury Sable hood. Very strong lifts.
Very strong lifts. These had no problem with the very heavy 2000 Mercury Sable hood I installed them on. A simple installation with a small screwdriver which is used to remove the old clips. The new ones pop on without tools. The larger ball socket is on the bottom fitting - the smaller one on top.

Worked Great In My Taurus
These were a perfect replacement on my Taurus. The hood stays open without having to prop it up with a bar.

Works Great
Put two of these on a 2000 Taurus. Works great. Was a little stiff at first and seemed to "grab" at a particular spot but this smoothed out after just a few up and down cycles of the hood. Super easy to install.
