High rupturing capacity fuse for multimeter.
Useful to have a few of these in the parts drawer. It’s a multimeter fuse, so if you have a senile moment and connect your meter to live equipment it blows to protect the meter. Then you are stuck until it’s replaced.

Delivery time
Just what I wanted for fluke multimeter leads. Took a while to come but my fault for not checking delivery dates

Even though the title said Amico, I recieved a SIBA brand. I've not researched if they own SIBA or that was just what the seller sent. In any case SIBA was what my Ideal 61-481 DMM had before, so I'm pleased to put one back in. This is a 6.3mm x 32mm which is a style used by many mid-range multimeters. It's a genuine HRC (High Rupture Capacity) ceramic fuse that unlike its cheaper glass brethren is less likely to shrapnel if it's hit with an extreme high energy jolt. Now this is not exactly what came out of my meter, my Ideal shipped with a 1A fast blow for the mA range. However I could only find this 500mA. If you decide to go this route, understand that it is also a fast blow so even a short spike over 500mA will toast it. Most of my mA readings are under a 100mA so that's fine with me. Another thing to pay attention to is voltage ratings. Barrel fuses can be rated from 60V on up. Double check and make sure your buying one rated for 1000V. Bottom line is, this fuse will serve my purposes without comprimising safety. Update: I beleive this is also the fuse that the Fluke 17B uses for its mA/uA over current protection. In any case I've been using my Ideal's mA range with its fresh new fuse. And at times I pushed the envelope. The current spike over 500mA for a few fractions of a second at a couple of differnt points through the test and survived. I must say that "forgiveness" is most welcome and I continue to sing praises about this replacement.
