Great movie. Wish the newest Hellboy took it from the end of this one. Would have been great to see a story about Hellboy & Liz's twins.

Ambitious
Hellboy: The Golden Army (2008) continues the Hellboy series directed by Guillermo del Toro. In this second installment, the look and feel is more like a “tale” compared to its predecessor. This fantasy superhero film is actually faster-moving than the first film, but continues with timely humor, a generally lighthearted tone, and some excellent ‘eye candy’ for the viewer. This film actually has a slightly more commercial look to it, but that’s not a negative thing. Ron Perlman and Selma Blair are once again on top form with their acting. After viewing this film, I cannot help but hope there’s a final installment in the future. This blu ray has excellent picture and sound quality, as well as some nice special features. The Hellboy films are pure escapism; they’re perfect for those looking for something different in the superhero genre with some fantasy elements.

Very fun to watch.
I thought this film was a pretty good sequel to the first as it wasn't over the top as sequels usually are and the plot was decent as it focused on royal siblings at odds of each other with one trying to enslave humanity and the other trying to uphold the peace. Most of the original casts comes back for this one and Abe Sapien gets a lot more screen time than that from the first which is a good thing cuz I thought his performance was brilliant (especially the dialogues between him and the princess). The scenery of the film is also worth to mention because at one point of the film, it kind of reminded me of Tim Burton's "Edward Scissor Hands". Despite this comic hero does not belong to the notorious Marvel or DC, I still recommend this film to all comic book movie goers as this one is not one to miss.

La película llegó a tiempo y en buen estado. Mi película favorita de Hellboy, una gran historia y para mí el mejor antagonista que he visto, una gran actuación. Viene con doblaje al español y subtitulos en español.
