Worked great the second time
The first product that I received would not latch some of the bits correctly and they would pop out. I wouldn’t have cared very much but they happened to be on the boys that I would be using the most. However, when I brought the concern to amazon they sent out a replacement the next day! New screwdriver works perfectly!

Handy stubby screwdriver
I replaced an old screwdriver that had interchangable bits with this screwdriver and I have to say that I am glad I did!Pros:+ This new stubby screwdriver fits in the palm of my hand.+ The locking mechanism/ring locks the interchangeable bits into the screwdrivers shaft with a fair amount of force, I haven't had any problems with the tips slipping out while being moved or used.+ Weighs much less than the old ratcheting screwdriver it replaced.+ Provides more control than the old screwdriver it replaced.+ The interchangable tip storage area is cool, it reminds me of a revolver.+ This screwdriver does not have a ratcheting feature, no more switching back and forth between lefty-loosey and righty-tighty like with my old screwdriver!+ The combination of the rubber body and ribbed tip storage compartment seems to allow for a good amount of torque when fastening or loosening screws.Cons:- The tip is not magnetic and won't stick to any ferrous parts/screws that your're working on, but you can add your own magnetic 1/4" extension like I did (see photo) if you want this feature.- There are no Square 4/5/6 mm bits but rather Hex 4/5/6 mm bits.- The opposite end of the Hex 4 mm bit is the Philips # 2, kind of a weird combination if you ask me.- This may or may not be a con...the maximum diameter is indeed ~1.5" as stated in the product description but the overall length of this stubby screwdriver is ~4 inches with the provided PH2 bit installed (see photo). So far, this seems to be a great tool to keep in my toolbox. It takes up less space and weighs less than what I had before and I am hoping that this Maxtech 12-in-1 multi-but stubby screwdriver will provide years/decades of useful service. If not, I'll try to update this review with any new quirks and features that might be worth sharing.

Versatile and value for money
This is exactly what I was looking for. The bits are really good and works well.Only downside would be the overall length of it. Some times you might think if it would have been a bit longer then would have worked really well.

Good for snowboarding
I bought this to keep in my pocket while snowboarding, and it's great because it has the #3 Phillips that very few multi-bit screwdrivers have, and is the right size for adjusting and tightening bindings. The one big flaw is that some of the bits, including the #2 Phillips, don't lock in to the shaft properly. Those bits can fall out easily, so be careful. But it is perfect for the bits that do stay in place.

Bits fall out
I bought 2 MAXTECH stubby drivers both are bad: Included bits do not have indent collar for retention, some bits fall out completely, some get stuck.I wasted a lot of time buying and returning all of these from Amazon:Ended up keeping Milwaukee 8-in-1 Compact Ratcheting Multi-bit Driver, and the Tack LifeMilwaukee is the best of the 4 I tried.Milwaukee 8-in-1 Compact Ratcheting Multi-bit DriverI recommend the Milwaukee stubby ratcheting driver with bit magazine in the handle. Amazon has it for $25. Home Depot has it, $15. It has all the advantages of all the reviewed drivers and none of the downsides, except that it is a longer than some at 4.25" with the bit.PROS: Quality construction. Magnetic bit tip retention. Magazine bits are visible to aid selection. Ratcheting.CONS: A little long 4.25". Rubber grip not as good as Tack Life.NoCry Stubby Ratcheting Screwdriver KitCONS: Slippery somewhat slender plastic handle with bad fit and finish. Bit retention disc system feel like it will break. Bit magazine does not allow you to see the bit tips easily, and also bits are likely to drop fall out if selector is not aligned well. Ratcheting switch looks and feels cheap.PROS: None when compared to other stubby drivers.TACKLIFE 12-in-1 Stubby Screwdriver& 2 Nut DriverPROS: Very short. High quality rubber grip sleeve. High quality construction, but simple design. 2 sizes of nut driver. Solid feel.CONS: No built in bit magazine, no ratcheting. NO MAGNETIC BIT RETENTION, uses ball bearing spring in the bit for retention.MAXTECH Stubby Screwdriver, Quick-load Mechanism, 12-in-1 Interchangeable Multi-Bit SetPROS, short. Decent quality rubberized grip . Bit magazine retention is well designed. You can see the bit tips in the magazine making selection easy.CONS. Dealbreaker, bits fall out of tool when in use, bit retention system does not work with the supplied bits. BIt retention seems poorly designed.Milwaukee 8-in-1 Compact Ratcheting Multi-bit DriverI recommend the Milwaukee stubby ratcheting driver with bit magazine in the handle. Amazon has it for $25. Home Depot has it, $15. It has all the advantages of all the reviewed drivers and none of the downsides, except that it is a longer than some at 4.25" with the bit.The Tack life is a good choice if you need very a short driver.

Great little tool for photographers
I bought this after a recent trip during which my wife's tripod came apart. I needed a Torx T-25 bit to fix it but didn't have one available. We were far away from a hardware store, so we had to jury-rig a fix until we got home. I wanted something small with all the bits necessary for servicing different types of tripods, quick release plates, and anything else that might come up. This little tool has all the tips I need and easily fits in my little bag of camera-cleaning gear. I'm very pleased.

Good tool for tight jobs
Nice grip on the handle.Good selection of tips for many types of screw heads.Tips lock in. The release is pretty good. Not sure how long it will last but it is a little different than an impact drill. Overall I think it is a good design.Great for tight spaces. You can get a good amount of power out of it.
