Good calculator
I bought this for a class my husband was taking and it works great. Screen is easy to see. Buttons are smooth and quiet when pressed. Fits in a pencil pocket in his binder.

Indispensable
This is a must for any student taking mathematics. I had a more sophisticated model, and this is definitely an easier-to-learn model. I took a couple of lessons on Utube to learn how to use it; It doesn't take long to be confident with this excellent product. If I had discovered this model earlier, I could have saved myself some torment with a subject that has always been an enigma. This is the model recommended for SATs.

Reliable, Easy-to-Use Scientific Calculator
This calculator has been such a dependable tool for school. It’s straightforward, durable, and does everything I need without being overly complicated. One thing I really like is the MultiView display. Being able to see expressions exactly how they’re written in a textbook — especially fractions and exponents — makes it much easier to catch mistakes before hitting enter. It feels more natural compared to older calculators that show everything in one long line. The buttons are responsive and well-spaced, so it’s comfortable to use during long study sessions. It handles scientific notation, trigonometry, fractions, and statistics without any issues. It’s also approved for many exams, which is a big plus. The build feels sturdy, and the battery life lasts a long time. If you need a reliable scientific calculator for math or science classes, this is a solid choice. It’s simple, accurate, and gets the job done without unnecessary distractions.

Great for jumpstart college/HS classes!!
Last year I had to purchase my daughter a scientific calculator for school. It was the $99 version of this and I figured since it was such a super duper version it had everything and she would be better off. Wrong! This year she comes home and says she needs this specific calculator because the other one has some abilities they cannot use in class. Geese, in this economy I don’t understand why the school isn’t providing them, but that’s me be cranky. Nonetheless, this was an affordable price so I bought it. It’s a sleek design, and like the other one much too sophisticated for my knowledge. I am not smarter than a 5th grader to use it. Luckily my daughter is. She’s happy with the display size as some other are too small, but this is perfect for her and it has all the functionalities she needs to use in her jumpstart college/hs class. She’s a senior so this covers her class and requirements perfect. It has perfect math ability and portability.

Great calculator
I used this calculator every day for most of high school and it’s still going strong. I can’t stand the TI models, but after learning how to use it, this one makes sense to me. Definately look up a guide on what all the buttons mean if you aren’t completely familiar with this TI. Overall, is a very sustainable piece that does the job its meant for!

A capable machine, but there are better calculators at this price point.
This is a good calculator at a good price, BUT you should only buy it if you're required to have this particular model--or if better models are outlawed by your teacher. I will explain that more below: It's dual powered by solar and CR 2032 3V battery, which is nice. I've had mine 5 years and haven't yet had to change the battery. (Changing the battery requires unscrewing the back panel and taking the calculator apart, by the way! While it doesn't have a CAS or graphing capabilities and can't solve systems of equations or evaluate integrals and derivatives, etc.,this is a fairly advanced machine... the data list functions are sophisticated and the multi-view feature is something not often found on calculators at this price point. I use this calculator solely because it is the best calculator approved for actuarial examinations. Outside of the fact that it doesn't have TVM keys like a financial calculator (necessary for 1-2 exams out of the series of 9-10 actuarial exams)... this is, by far, the best calculator that is approved by the SOA. ******** HOWEVER, if you're looking in this price range and you don't have onerous restrictions on what you're allowed to use, there are calculators at this price point that are definitely superior! ********* (1.) For about the exact same price as the TI-30XS MultiView, there is a Casio model (I think it's called ES-115 Plus) that's designed in Japan with way more features, and I think it's easier to use too. It's very direct, with lots of shortcut keys. It manipulates matrices and can transpose and invert and rref to solve linear equations. It also can evaluate derivatives and integrals numerically. Besides graphing, this Casio will do exactly the same things of calculators ten times its cost. It's a FAR superior machine than the MultiView for the same price. Period. (2.) For just $5 more than the MultiView and Casio, you can get the TI-36X Pro. It doesn't have graphing capabilities, but besides graphing, it does just about everything--and more in some cases--than TI's more expensive lineup of calculators (starting at TI 83). The MultiView is maybe good for middle school; whereas, the TI-36X Pro (and the Casio) could reasonably be used throughout high school and college studies and even through graduate mathematics, statistics, and sciences. The 36X Pro isn't as direct or fast as the Casio, but has many menus which can be accessed. You could muck your way through using the TI more than you can with the Casio, imo. There are about 100 stored constants (things like the speed of light, gravitational force, mass of an electron, etc.). There are various built-in probability distributions (binomial, geometric, etc.) It can do unit/dimensional analysis (although entering units is a pain) and it can do conversions too. It's very similar to the Casio I mentioned above. The major differences would be the TI has a lot of menus to access its capabilities and the Casio has shortcut keys. The 36X Pro is also a tad more expensive.

ANOTHER PERFECT PURCHASE
Works perfectly for my daughter, recommended by her teacher

Using for GED. REQUIRED CALCULATOR! A+++
This is the calculator that is required for the GED test. I bought this specifically for my daughter who is taking the GED and needs only this specific calculator. The calculator itself works perfectly, is solar powered. No batteries . Absolutely no complaints. If you are reading this & taking the test, buy the calculator! The first five questions you cannot have a calculator. So long as you know how to use THIS calculator, you will pass the test. The protective sleeve it comes with, which is plastic and is on the back of it is perfect and lightweight. The color is perfect. The buttons are great. Responsive and no problems. It is extremely accurate and gives the correct answer each time.
