Will they" light up" like my original ones in my 2001 ford xlt ranger?

I DO NOT KNOW I DID NOT USE THE HOLE THING ,I ONLY USED THE COVERS NOT THE SWITCH.OK .

Is this a real concern where the switches getting hot with the lights on like many have posted?

I have never noticed mine getting hot or even warm.
