Horrible products/company! Very disappointed!
I'm really unhappy with this product. I ordered and had the DVD/VHS sent as a gift to my mom. First, the VHS doesn't work at all! The door on the VHS doesn't even close. Product was sent with no cords! No remote control! Waste of money since it doesn't work anyway and have to buy another one! Extremely disappointed!!!

Definitely got my money's worth!!
This player is the bomb diggity, I bought one off eBay for $150.00 and I had problems with it from day 1, and granted this one isn't a dvd recorder like the other one was, but it plays DVDs & VHS, which was the ultimate goal !!! Well well worth the $7.99 price, I seriously thought it was a misprint, but I figured if I get screwed again it only cost me a smidge of the piece of crap I got from a seller on eBay !!!

Good Used VCR
Works well. An added bonus was both a DVD and Blockbuster VHS installed. No remote control, instructions, or cables. I have not yet tried to copy VHS tapes to the DVD but that would be just a bigger plus. The seller sent a clean and functioning VCR.. Based on this product, I would purchase more used items from this vendor.

Cannot Record Without Cable Box
The Sony DVD/VCR Combo Player SLV-281P has a fine picture and like most Sony products is well constructed. However, you must have a cable box in order to record on VHS tapes (it only plays DVDs).I called Comcast, our cable company, and they confirmed that while those receiving cable without boxes WILL get digital TV in February, they WILL NOT be able to record off devices that don't have tuners -- and the Sony SLV-281P does not have one. Comcast suggested waiting until February, when such units will have digital tuners that will accept its COAX without a cable box. By the way, the seller charged me the 8.54% Los Angeles sales tax, but when I returned the unit I was refunded only the 7.50% sales tax that is in effect where I live. Watch out!

Didn't expect remote or manual. Good they both came . Also has no rf out . Exactly what I wanted.
