Johnsons 16757 Hollyhock Double Mixed

I bought this pack of seeds back in late June 2022 after my father in law mentioned that he liked Hollyhocks and I thought it would be nice to grow some for him. I sowed the seeds into twenty small pots in July, and by early August they were all beginning to poke out. I transferred them to larger pots in September as they continued to grow. We lost three of them to snail and squirrel interventions, but 17 of them survived and have grown into healthy plants. I've now distributed them amongst my family and kept a few for ourselves and transferred them to their final growing positions where I've protected them from the coming winter months and hopefully can look forward to some lovely blooms next summer. For less than £3 at time of purchase, with what looks to have been a 100% success rate (snails and squirrel not withstanding) I'd say these have been excellent value seeds.

Planted these just over a week ago and it didn’t take long for them to germinate. Nice easy seeds for a beginner!

花壇に直播きして9日目に発芽した。 土は1Ｃｍ～2Ｃｍ位の浅さで、毎朝散水した・ 新芽の双葉は5ｍｍ位で小さいが、これで大きくなるのかな。 葵の種蒔き説明書が無いのでヤマ勘で育てている。 英文の文字が袋の裏に書いてあるが、種蒔きの説明ではなさそうだ。 来年の夏に咲くのだろうか。
