I purchased this as bbq season is here and wanted to make sure food in cooked all the way through and not just the outside, just open the probe and it switches its self on, Just close the probe and it goes off its as easy as that. Came with battery included so ready to use straight out of the box after a quick wash of course. Very handy bottle opener as well so all good news! Screen is easy to read,Its made from quality materials so i look forward to be able to use this in my kitchen as well so will make excellent use of it

I was in the market to buy a new temperature probe after my wife used the old one to unblock the sink. That was my fault as I wasn't fast enough with the plunger.I digress.The unit comes neatly packaged with operations manual, a set of velco stickers for mounting the thermometer. There's also a table that shows you the optimum temperatures for a range of meats. Alternatively, you could just ask Alexa. Batteries are pre installed and it also comes with a spare.You turn-on the unit by moving the steel probe away from the body. Moving it back turns the unit off or it'll trun off automatically after 10 minutes. It starts reading the ambient room temperature straight away. Inserting the probe into the meat gives readings in a couple of seconds.The unit has internal magnets for sticking to your fridge and an inbuilt bottle opener. Finally, the unit is IP67 rated so it'll hopefully last longer than my old probe. Recommended.

As far as digital thermometers go, I’m rather impressed by this little gadget. The features I love are that it has a backlight which makes it easier to take a reading when lighting is dim; it automatically comes on when you pull out the reader (?) and shut off when not in use; it auto-rotates; you can move from degrees to Fahrenheit (which is helpful when I need to determine what temperature something needs to be when using an American recipe for example); it doubles as a bottle opener; and you can attach it to the fridge or wherever by using the sticky bits provided. The only thing that I would advice they can improve on is by making it magnetic instead or putting a magnet on it to attach easily to the fridge or metal surfaces as the velcro will wear off in time. Other than that it’s perfect really!

This is a dream to use – having tried to use other thermometers when cooking meat, this one is so good. It gives a really fast reading, is very handy to work, and is really accurate. I also like how easy it is to hold - regardless of which hand you hold it with, the LCD display automatically rotates and doesn’t clutter up the drawer as it sticks to the fridge or cooker hood magneticallyIt’s got a decent length of handle - your hand doesn’t get burned with hot oil or steam. I’ve used it for hot milk drinks and yogurt making and checking when re-heating food, but mainly for cooking meat, and it’s brilliant for peace of mind... No more overdone roasts! My oven doesn’t have a light, and I love the back-lit screen for easy viewing when probing meat within the ovenAlthough it’s not BBQ weather currently, I know this is going to be so good for outdoor use; durable, sturdy, easy to read with the light up screen, and it doubles up as a bottle opener – an outstanding bit of kit. This is a very nice digital thermometer. The magnet in the back make it ideaL to store on a metal object like the fridge where it is alway handy. If that is not convenient then you can either hang it up using the loop ( which doubles as a bottle opener) or use the Velcro pad which are in the box. I bought this primarily to use with my Instant Pot but I am sure that it will get used in our BBQ smoker in the summer. I have used it already to test when the water was ready to make beef bone broth and to check if a chicken was up to temperature. It is a very handy size and the display is clear ( particularly with the backlight on). The calibration procedure, using iced water, was relatively easy. Being able to varying the angle of the probe is also very useful.

I found this thermometer had a very clear display, very easy to read and insert the probe into cooked food. I use it to check the temperature of joints and other food to make sure its cooked properly without overcooking. It probably saves me a fortune in heating costs and trying to serve over cooked foods. I tend to find that 70degrees plus in the middle of the food means most foods are cooked well.Would recommend to anyone

Really like this digital thermal meter. It comes with a battery readily installed and switches itself on when you pull the steel probe away from the body.It has automatic screen rotation and switching off as well. Light weigh easy to use. Very satisfied with my purchase. Will do a lot of baking with it!
