I really wanted this to work.
Unfortunately it only smashes the eggs, almost always breaking the yokes. It may be that the Costco eggs I use have shells that are too thin for this machine, the first few I tried the plunger just went into the egg. I modified the plunger by putting a soft plastic bumper, designed for use under a glass table top, 1 1/4" in diameter, on the plunger (see photo). This took care of the plunger going into the egg, but the machine still smashed the egg. Maybe there is a knack, a twist of the wrist, that will make it work.

Get one even if you can brake eggs well.
This is a funky device that works surprisingly well! It is ingenious.
