This book wasn't ready for publication
**Information about the story is given in this review, if you don't want to know what happens before you read the story, don't read this review**There are so many problems with the story that it should have been reworked before publication. It just wasn't ready. It was going great until the author tried this stupid idea that just because Mia had lost 30 pounds, it somehow changed the way she looked so much that the guys she grew up with her whole life would not recognize her. It's so ridiculous. Ridiculous as to be unbelievable. Then there is the crazy scenario when Mia found out her "best friend" only became her friend because she (Josie) slept with all the guys and felt slighted by them so she wanted to get back at them through Mia. Josie also paid a guy to pretend interest in Mia and have sex with her. It turned out to be Mia's first time. When Mia finds out, she ices Josie from her life and then blames the guys for Josie's actions, never taking responsibility for her own actions. What's worse is the guys take it out of misplaced guilt. The whole thing is stupid. After Mia causes huge guilt trips on all the guys, then she says to one of them that it wasn't their fault and she didn't blame them. Yeah, right. We just read page after page after page about how she did blame them. It's very immature. And why would the guys offer to let her lead an entire department in their company when she has no education beyond high school and no training? Just because she owns shares in the company through no effort on her part at all. That's just asking for all their hard work to be blown up. Then we get to another ridiculous scenario in the book where we are supposed to believe that Marcus has lost so much weight that his clothes have to be padded for the difference (as if the guys never touch each other, never pat each other on the back or shoulder so would never find out) and he wears makeup to hide the difference in his face. News flash: unless he suddenly became an expert and started using fillers like face putty which the book never mentions, makeup alone won't do the trick. There isn't a makeup brand out there that can be applied in such a way that makes a person appear to fill out the hollows in their cheeks or the sunken areas around their eyes or takes care of the saggy skin from too much weight loss, too fast, as was happening to Marcus. Also, his hands and wrists would appear bony from the weight loss. There's no way to hide that with makeup or padding in clothes. It's like the author didn't put any thought to what she was writing and hoped we wouldn't, either. All of these issues ruined this story. Parts of it are well written as we expect from this writer but parts of it, as I've pointed out, are just sloppy. The book needs to be redone. I'm being generous with 2 stars.

Give it a go!
I don't know where to start on this one.I wasn't fun of the first book of the series but I already bought this one so I thought to give it a go.Let me tell you something else first before I continue with my review. I'm not a cry reader. I might well up and get a bit sad but knowing that these are fictional characters makes me "handle" the whole drama. Don't get me wrong, I know there are books out there that will make me cry a river and that is exactly why I avoid them. I want my books to be light or angsty or suspensful or dark but with HEA. So, no matter what happens in the book, knowing that everything ends well keeps my eyes dry. Now, this book.I cried a river. I had to put my kindle down, grap a tissue and try not to sob and wake up my husband. I felt my heart breaking and I wanted to reach and hug each and every one of them. This time, nothing could stop the tears from falling. The book is about Mia (Rhett's sister) and Logan. Logan we met in the first book but this is the first time we meet Mia. Michelle Heart gave us a head's up in Heartless that there is more than friendship between these two but because of the rule that Rhett put down-Mia is off limits-they couldn't act on their feelings.Time pass by, guys leave for NY and Mia finds her self alone without anyone to turn to. She tries to contact the boys but everybody is ignoring her, including her brother (or so she thinks) so she decides to go her own way. Years pass and when everybody accidentally meet in the same club they talk things through. They find out that Mia had the wrong phone numbers (strange since she was sure she added them corectly) and somebody was pretending to be Mia and answering to Rhett whenever he was contacting her (weird and creepy). After all things are resolved, Mia and Logan confess their feelings and finally get together while the whole group finds out that one of them is dying from lead poisoning.Feelings....The love story is solid. It's sweet and heart melting. Logan is a book boyfriend material. He loved Mia since day one but respected his friend. He wouldn't even kiss her for God's sake unless he had her brother's blessing cause he knew, once he did, he wouldn't stop. Who does that you ask? Book boyfriends or a.k.a. Logan. They jumped into the deep end a bit early but I didn't mind. The guys loved each other for many, many years and knew each other pretty well. Plus-and this is the gut wrenching part of the story- one of their best friend is dying and wants to see them together before he goes.I'll be honest. the full star rating is mostly not for the love story. It's about the brotherhood. It's about how really close these five people are. The Screw Crew. The people that aren't embarassed to cry in frond of each other and share I love yous. The men that made me cry till my eyes were red and swollen. And it's about Marcus. Marcus the fighter. Marcus, the one with the list. Marcus the proud. Marcus who's dying....If you loved the first book, you probably read this one so you know how good it is. If you didn't love the first one (and made it all the way to the end of my review) go ahead and give it a go. I think this book will change your opinion about this series. You have nothing to lose, especially since it's on KU.As for me, I'm beginning Careless.

Oh wow! This book really pulls at the heartstrings.Mia has loved Logan for years now. She’s never had the courage to tell him how she feels...Years have gone by with him moving away...By chance they’re reunited...Can she finally tell him how she feels?Love this series. It was great getting glimpses of what is happening with the characters from Book 1 too. Can’t wait to read more

Mia e Logan
Finalmente ela e Logan ficam juntos.
