Does the job…
But sometimes hard to remove from drain. I would still recommend.

Great inexpensive tool. Effective, easy to use and permanent tool in my home tool box.
There were so many of these drain snakes available, it was hard to choose. I picked Vastar for ratings, value and size. Yes, size was the important factor as most were about 19" long and this set was 25".Value wise, you get 5 snakes and the grabber. The grabber is pretty decent but a bit on the cheaper end of scale, but works good. The snakes are good quality and sticking them into the drains, I was scared they could snap and break like I have read happened with many brands. After a few times in the drain, I felt pretty confident these will hold up fine as long as you are easy with them.Ratings, these got high ratings from many and I can see why. The quality of the snake seems to be a good quality plastic. As long as you don't force it in or out, they should hold up fine and the one I have used is doing great.Usage, these Vastar snakes work great. My issue is that they are pretty wide in my opinion, but they fit everything I put them into. On one drain, the little spikes that stick out the side kept getting caught on the drain, so I had to pull slow, easy and at an angle. These Vastar snakes are easy to clean, though hair can be a small pain to get off, even when pulling upwards, off the spikes. Once the hair and bulk of the gunk is off tool, just rinse. As far as how good they work, they are awesome. I tried a drain in a sink that was semi-clogged and though I pulled out some hair, it wasn't as much as I expected, but what came out, cleared the drain and sink drains perfectly. Next was the shower where water drained ok, but I could here it starting to back a little when showering. It never backed up into the shower though. I put this snake down the holes and it didn't go far. The first time I brought snake back up, it grabbed alot of hair. The second time up, it took off the drain cover as there was so much hair that I didn't know could come out. The amount that came out was from the floor to my waist. I was worried I grabbed a snake and not hair. It wasn't as gross as the sink hair, but it wasn't pretty. We keep up on house things, but apparently, this was missed as we'd never had any problems in the shower. So, the price I paid for this was so worth it. After seeing this shower hair, we'd likely have to call a plumber if we had let it go much longer. This was one of the best buys I have made in a long time as it was very inexpensive, definitely alot of return and saved a alot of money for future expenses had we not got this. Thank you.

Got the job done without calling plumber
Takes a little time fishing it down and up the drain many times but brought out a lot of hair that was clogging the drain. Was concerned that the little barbs were going to break off and they nearly did but I stopped before that happened. I'm glad that several come in package for a reasonable price so I can repeat when necessary. Did not use the gripping tool yet.

Good and bad
The orange snake hair drains work fine. Don't try to clean them. They do their job. Bring up tons of gross hair and whatnot. Just trash them after use. That's why there are five. They have sacrificed and done well. The clog removal tool, in sharp contrast, is garbage. I could not get the claw to come out, no matter how hard I pressed the plunger, or contorted the metal housing sleeve. Would be nice if somebody had given it a test plunge before shipping it. Straight to the trash. Annoying. The orange things are so good that, oddly, I wasn't really pissed. But I would like to have had the claw, and I do feel a bit cheated.

The single hair grabber is where it’s at!
People , people. Forget the 5 plastic drain snakes that come with this product. Focus on the stainless steel grabber instead. Yes the plastic ones work okay to clean out surface level stuff or kinda move things around enough to make some clearing. But I had gone through about one plastic drain snake a week and my shower kept clogging! Towards the end, no amount of using them would help. I wasn’t pulling anything up anymore and my shower was still clogged. Finally, I took the last thing out of the package, the stainless steel grabber contraption. Shoved it in there, activated the claw grab, and woooo-eee! I don’t even want to attach a photo of what I found but let’s just say , it must have been the accumulated hair of every person who lived before me in my apartment . It was seeping black liquid. (I know...!) make sure to keep a plastic bag handy to dispose of things, and use gloves if possible. Afterward, I poured some dish soap and baking soda down the drain and turned the shower water up as hot as it would go. Let it run for five minutes to get rid of any gunk or smells.Lo and behold, a perfectly clean shower ! No more clogging, perfect draining and zero funky smells. I feel like a princess.

It does the job but not perfect
The plastic piece was not easy to bend. I has reached the bottom of the drain but not as u-shape like the drain pipe. It couldn’t grab all hair out from the drain as hoped.

Does what it is intended to do
I've had a long term problem with my bathtub drain - lately it's been so bad once I was done with my shower the water was ankle deep. Drano and the vinegar/baking soda treatments did nothing to solve the problem so my next step was either call a plumber or get something I could stick down the drain. Within the first few minutes using the drain snake I was pulling up hair. I could see some results that I hadn't when trying the other methods. I didn't pull up that much hair and gunk but it was enough that after I was done (and had poured some hot water down the drain to hopefully wash away anything I didn't get to) I again had a drain that was clear of any obstructions. The only complaint I have is one of the teeth broke off during use so I wonder how many uses one of these has. Despite that I'd rather use this tool than keep buying Drano. I haven't used the drain auger yet, I think that is more useful in a sink drain rather than the bathtub.

It did it's job
If you're reading this review, and you're wondering if it'll unclog your washroom sink, then yes it did it's job. I had no xp with this kind of thing before so I wasn't sure but I'm relieved it worked. I filled up my sink and it took 2m 10s to drain, after I unclogged it, 13s.The metal plumbing snake is absolutely necessary for lifting up large pieces, but the plastic piece was useful for actually pulling out some smaller pieces that the snake wouldn't catch. So both pieces are necessary. If you're careful w the plastic pieces it should last a long time. If you're yanking hard in frustration, then of course I suppose it might break (mine did not). But you're pulling out very light pieces of gunk, not a dead animal (one might hope). So there's no need to use a lot of force.

The metal tool is worth it, the plastic ones... meh
The claw like metal tool was the only thing that was able to pull clumps out of our drain. The plastic ones broke easily and you had to be careful with them snagging on every part of the pipe. 5 stars for the metal tool 2 stars for the plastic.

No brainer hair from drainer
Works like a charm. Easy to use. Seems fairly durable but I would still handle with care. Corners can be a bit sharp as well on the plastic so beware. Don't need to cut yourself while pulling out nasty bits from the drain.

Disposable
The teeth on the plastic snake break off easily, and the back pull you need a rain coat for back splash. After snake came out, pieces of the teeth floated to top. However they work great, but need to be longer

Not suitable for ordinary household drains
These are too large to retract out of the drain once inserted
