Heavy-Duty Boar Bristle Basting Brush, Round, 1"

I was replacing a pastry brush, the rectangular-shaped kind from this same company. After many, many years, the glue holding the bristles in place finally gave out, and had been repaired several times prior. I just decided it was time to get a new one. I bought an identical replacement, then saw this and thought it might be worth a try. I am so glad I tried it - I love it! The bristles are thick and hold onto whatever I'm brushing, melted butter, barbecue sauce, garlic oil, etc., and distribute it beautifully. Looks like I'll save the rectangular brush for actual pastry and brushing crumbs off cakes before frosting, and use this for pretty much everything else. The only negative is that a few bristles have already fallen out, so I'm keeping on eye on that.

Very sturdy and wide enough to make quick work of basting, applying milk or egg glazes, etc.

I love this brush to baste while grilling and the long handle is perfect. But the bristles do tend to come out onto the food. I would have given this brush 5 stars if not for this issue because trying to remove bristles while food is grilling is uncomfortable, and if not careful, can burn your hands.

Good brush. with hand washing it has held up for about a year. No bristle loss.

This one sturdy brush, and exactly what I needed. It's easy to clean, and holds up wash after wash. Great brush for the money.

The brush works fine, but the bristles come out. It’s not appetizing for pastries to have bristles as an ingredient, so I would not recommend this pastry brush.

Great quality, used several times already. Unlike other pastry brushes, the bristles don’t fall out -which is a huge plus when you bake for a living.

I ordered this pastry brush 8/27/25, delivered 8/29/25, but am returning it. I'm sure it's a great pastry brush, but it's absolutely HUGE, too large a brush for delicate baking/pastries. There is no way to visualize the size of the brush from the description and would be helpful to have a comparison photo next to the brush to see how large it is. The only thing I could think of to use it for is brushing milk on top of a pie crust. It's too large for delicate pastries.

The width and density of this brush saves me a lot of time in working with my filo pastry. I’ve used it so many times since I bought it and it’s washed well, keeping its shape and working as well as it did when it was brand new. Clearly the identical brush I bought as my “back up” brush, can stay wrapped at the back of the drawer for some time to come.

Los he utilizado (pedí uno y después otro al comprobar su calidad de desempeño) para embadurnar huevo en panadería y otro para aplicar aceites y otras sustancias a carnes asadas. Uno para cada actividad. Nunca los he lavado con detergente ,solo agua caliente y un poco de sal. Así creo yo , o imagino que no erosiono ni echo a perder la ecología de los pelillos de estás brochas. Buena calidad hasta el momento
