Excellent and Unique
This was the first organic black bean spaghetti that I had ever eaten. It was awesome! It tasted good with pasta sauce and was much healthier than traditional pasta. Instead of being full of carbs it was full of protein.

Re-ordering now
Love this product, great taste healthy. I know I’m reviewing late, but I’m glad I did for some reason. I just forgot all about it now I’m gonna re-order.

Gothic pasta
Black bean pasta is wonderful! All the one star reviewers on here saying it's inedible must live on chicken nuggets and ketchup... haven't you heard of pasta sauce, salt, pepper and garlic powder?? All those are great with this pasta. Yes the taste and texture will be different than traditional pasta, but that's to be expected buying this in the first place. In comparison to regular wheat pasta, the calories aren't much different but the carbs are quite different and the protein is significantly drastic, along with differences in fiber and some daily vitamins. I am not gluten free, but I do tend to feel over-full and sluggish after a lot of carbs. This feels just right after a plate of the black bean pasta. I am, however, plant based and this is a fantastic protein source. I like this as a mid day snack and it's much better than any 200 calorie protein bar.

Interesting at first, but overall great!
This stuff does NOT taste like spaghetti like some claim. I am a food fanatic, and a rather overall healthy eater so health food isn't a turn off for me. But I just want to give an accurate description of how this stuff really tastes (both texture and flavor). There isn't much flavor to the noodles, a very weak spaghetti taste with a TINY TINY bean taste, let me emphasize tiny. You have to sit there and truly try to find the bean taste, and even then its not bad at all. The overall taste was as if you had chewed one black bean then ate some bland spaghetti. Now on to the texture: The texture is no where close to spaghetti, but it is not off-putting either. It WILL throw you for a loop if you're expecting spaghetti texture. The noodles are spongy, and slightly soft, but NOT soggy! If you're into healthy food, gluten free, or just looking for a healthier alternative to regular spaghetti, you have found your product. This is my new go to, with the amount of protein, fiber, and overall nutrition content, you can't go wrong. But do not be mad if you get this thinking it's exactly like spaghetti, because you will be disappointed. If you go into this with an open mind as an alternative to spaghetti, you will be very pleased!

Better than what noodles!
These black bean noodles are tasty! I tried another brand & was sadly dissapointed. A friend reccomended I try this brand as the noodles hold up after cooking. They truly do! If you're looking for a more healthy option & trying to get away from wheat pasta, give this product a try! The noodles don't shrink nor do they turn soggy after cooking. They have a unique flavor which is mild like black beans but not as strong. I think some of the bean flavor might be lost during the cooking process. They store well once cooked, though I've only refrigerated them for 3 days because I truly looked forward to eating them again. Would I purchase them again? YES! I just submitted another order for them as none of my local grocers carry this brand. One grocer carries another brand which is inferior to this one. The noodles are a very dark grey (almost black) once cooked. The water turns charcoal. Just a heads up as to what you can expect once you purchase & cook them.

… different…
Ok, so, I thought it was cool that they were black. Not gonna lie. They turn a dark brown once cooked though, fyi. I was hoping for a wheatless alternative with some actual NUTRITIVE VALUE in it… but.. I just don’t think I could replace regular pasta this way. I love black beans, I do, but … maybe just as black beans? Idk. The flavor was… different .. and that’s the best description I can manage. I think if black beans are your absolute all-time favorite food, maybe this is the thing for YOU. Maybe. I didn’t use this for regular spaghetti or with an Alfredo (which might be better, honestly) but rather with a tomato based rendition of what I know as Fidéo. (Pronounced “fee-THEY-oh”) I figured that since black beans are a savory bean that lends its flavor to many Tex-Mex dishes and salsas, perhaps it’d be safest to lean that way Vs. towards the Italian or Asian… but even though I’m really heavy handed with the Cumin and lime and garlic, I still found that I needed to add cheese and sour cream and salsa and some homemade guacamolé for it to really be palatable TO ME. However, I did use grass fed/finished ground beef instead of steak as this is what I had on hand and after I’d already begun preparing the sauce and started the noodles I discovered I was out of celery salt…😰… but I made do. It turned out mostly edible as long as you didn’t run out of ANY of the aforementioned ‘toppings’… but it’s not something I would give another go to… I might come back once more and give these a shot with a mushroom, chicken, garlic and Marsala infused Alfredo though and if I do, I’ll post an edit to say how it went. Definitely…. Different …

I am not eating this.
The box was held shut only by a piece of 1/2” tape. The box was old, with those grey vertical lines that follow ridges on the cardboard. There were 7 labels stuck on the box, i think for shipping places. One converted the cooking directions. I assume some other label covered a use-by date, as i could find none. The 2 interior bags of what i hope were black bean spaghetti seemed undisturbed, but the dark spaghetti inside seemed brittle, old. I…. I’m not going to return this, because i opened it to inspect, but i’m also not going to eat it. Wasted money.

Expensive but I like these a lot
Good noodles made with good ingredients. They soften nicely and is a good angel hair noodle substitute. That said, good lord is it expensive.

This is one of the best gluten free products I have found. It looks great, it cooks quickly, it is amazing mixed with vibrantly coloured vegetables or served with a creamy sauce. , its really healthy and contains no refined flour which is brilliant!

Let me clarity: I like the item (I've bought it before) but the company I bought it from packed it shabbily, and it arrived all broken into tiny bits. Not usable as spaghetti at all. Not happy. :-(
