First, I gave it 5 stars, to counteract all the crappy ratings it was getting.Second, 4 stars is how I truly feel about it. I liked it.I think the reason that it has received such low ratings, is that people do not understand what the movie is trying to say; ie what the movie is about.To a degree, that was probably due to the way it was marketed: "A woman is done wrong and goes balistic with super human abilities and kicks butt." WRONG.The movie mainly has a SPIRITUAL message. It combines a little science, and religious teaching from several religions to try to posit a reason for our creation, our existence. When you look at it THAT way, it becomes intriguing..mainly because so few people try to do this in films.BUT, the ideas are much higher than most people reach. Like total body fitness is more than most people attempt to achieve. SO most people only have a vague idea of what the ..little bits of philosophy are leading to...just like most people only have a vague idea of what they need to do to get and stay fit.( Even though the filmmaker put a ton of symbolism in the visuals, and a dab of science in the commentaries.)This movie is about explaining why were we created. It takes it's clue to the path that it suggests is the reason of our creation by saying,"Hey look, we have this huge brain, but most of us use less than 10% of it. Dolphins use more and have developed sonar. What would happen if we could use more?Were we supposed to use more?When we were first made, as animals did we use less? Yes.And as we evolved, did we use more? Yes.So if we evolve further will we use more of our brains? Probably.So if we did, what would we be able to do then? (the movie makes some suggestions in the enhanced abilities of Lucy.)Then the movie asks: Why put this use unused portion of our brains in us, why didn't we just grow it as we evolved, like most animals?Here's where the movie gets spiritual/ religious....And it is probably because the writers were not clearer in their understanding that the movie was not clearerFor instance they named the main character "Lucy" after the first identified ancestor of humanityIt might have been a better clue for the audience if they had named her "Eve."Because they are sort of connecting to this and that in both science and religion. Eve might have been more appropriate because it was she that ate of the Tree of Good and Evil, prompting God to expel she and Adam...in the "allegory", so that they would not ALSO eat of the tree of Knowledge, and gain ALL knowledge so that they understood what God understood.In the "story of Eden"...(a story written in the Bible for children to explain on a level they might understand on) it explains to man that they were made in God's image. (thus the movie suggests...the huge brain, with huge capacity) And were removed from Eden to prevent them from accessing the total capability of the brain by eating of the Tree of Knowledge (in the movie represented by the chemical CPH4 -- supposedly a compound manufactured by the mother in the 6th week of the fetus's life in a very minute quantity, that causes the fetus to rapidly develop and grow)So essentially, in the movie you see the heroine be given the Tree of Knowledge and what happens to her.Like many religious writers have noted, that as you progress along the path of knowledge about God, your consciousness becomes higher and the feelings...both good and bad...of normal humans become much less. So that love, and hate, fear and pain; are much less. You see this reflected in Lucy.BUT though the movie uses understandings that many religious writers have come to understand...it also tries to create it's own new ideas of why we were made, what it all means. AND here is why it only gets a 4 and not a 5 from me. They were lazy.For instance they suggest that the purpose of creating man was that the purpose of knowledge is to expand. In their conception, God is knowledge.Then they say something along the lines that Time is everything. Time interprets everything.I think study of God, and spiritual teachings, and even philosophy show that time is an artificial construct.Philosophy argues, that what changes is not real, because what is real is permanent, and unchangeable.I am not a scientist, but I think along those lines, science may argue that Time is simply a measure that humans use to try to understand the world around them.The Bible tells us that God is present in the past, the present, and the future ALL at the same time. So this negates time as something that is real.That it seems real to humans is that our bodies have a limited existence as we are currently experiencing them on a physical plain. But spirituality has always indicated that the physical world is illusion and only the spiritual world that continues on forever, the reality.So in the movie, Lucy attempt to explain this as "None of us ever really dies." Basically what Jesus tried to tell us, and show us, with his life and teachings.So this is mainly a spiritual movie, marketed as a scary, sci-fi, slasher movie. Which it is not even that.There are NO nude scenes. Only a few sexually suggestive scenes. The violence is there, but serves a purpose more than not, and is not gratuitous, and not grossly bloody...like in Robo Cop.It tries for artistic qualities, and maybe it does OK with that for instance there is a woman giving a manicure? to the head of the oriental bad guy group...and she has on her back a tattoo of what appears to be Mary (mother of G) but where Mary would be there is only a skeleton. Then we see Lucy come striding down the hall in a surgery gown, billowing out like the tattooed picture. She is caring guns, and shoots through a closed door (this was confusing to me initially, because the movie expects you to just understand that Lucy by this time can see through objects, since she can also see the living energy in beings...) As the door opens you notice she has accurately shot all the mob's hench men and one is dying as as he does it looks like he is making observance to her as he bows down to the floor in death. (Thus Mary portrayed as death...get it...I know, sort of a stretch...sort of offensive) There were many more and varied instances of symbolism, trying to slip in little comments on what the movie was about, or what was about to happen.The movie also tries to get you up to scientific speed by interspersing a lecture by a neuroscience about the capacity of the brain.I think the movie could have done better without all the violence. I am wondering if maybe some of that was upped and marketed to sell the film to people that like that. IF so, the message is going to be largely wasted, as it was by the low ratings.The acting was good=points. The movie flowed well=points, and seldom lost interest=points, except initially while Lucy argued with the man that wanted her to take a case in to the oriental group..but is attention getting enough so you could watch it a few more times. Where it probably lost points for most people was in confusion. Confusion of those there for blood and guts ...why it was not more of that and sex...and confusion of the sci fi group trying to understand the science...and irritation of the spiritual at some just lazy thinking. Where it picked up points, is that for many movies,ANY attempt at thinking is rare.

This movie challenges all that you think you know about life and the purpose of life. Watch this movie with an open and technical mind. The logic used to bring this movie it life is simply mind blowing AND from a scientific point of view is completely accurate and from a religious point does have some facts. SO just keep an open mind and remember... scientific fact is we are ALL made up of atoms. Atoms hold together through vibrations, meaning WE vibrate so if you can control your harmonics, you control your reality. Just food for thought.

Another movie that seems to have attracted contrasting reviews from film critics and reviewers alike....I have to admit i love special-effects lavished Sci-fi movies, and look to be entertained, this one fits the bill, for me.The film kicks off with 'Lucy' being coerced into delivering a briefcase to a Chinese Drug-Lord, it soon becomes obviousfrom the outset she is obviously out of her depth, and in fear for her life.She is effectively been made their prisoner, they implant a package in her mid-drift, it's intended that she be used as amule for them, whilst still in captivity and after the implant, one of her guards beats her, kicking her in the stomach, releasingsome of the synthetic drug into her body.The effects make her something less than the frightened woman of earlier, she engineers an escape from her captors, onthe outside her first thoughts are to have the implant removed forcing a surgeon to perform the procedure.The bag removed, much of the remainder of the contents now in her system, her very being is hugely enhanced, the substanceis gradually unlocking up to 100% of her brain-capacity........what has she become ??She turns to writer and college lecturer 'Professor Norman' (Morgan Freeman) for help, he's written on the subject of 'Human and Animal's use of brain capacity.........can he help 'Lucy' or will her abilities be beyond his comprehension.Her new-found powers and there use has made her wanted by the 'Law' and hunted by the Chinese Drug-Lord.....and perhaps little time to live.An enjoyable and often exciting watch, that could 'blow your mind' - 'Scarlett Johansson' lights up the screen as 'Lucy'Bonus Features - The Evolution of Lucy* Cerebral Capacity - The Science of Lucy

Die Handlung ist spannend und solide erzählt, für sich allein vielleicht eher eine 4 als eine 5. Hier gebe ich 5 Sterne für die 4k Version. Insbesondere was Schärfe und Details angeht ist das bisher meine beste Disk. Auch die Durchzeichnung von Lichtern und Schatten gefällt mir sehr gut. Manche Filme übertreiben die "Schwarzdynamik" von HDR. Hier ist alles gut.

Der Name des Filmes Lucy ist nicht zufällig. Die echte Lucy war ein Weibchen das vor ca. 1 Million Jahre in West Afrika lebte und ihr Skelett gilt als der ältesten Fund eines Vorfahren der Menscheit, noch Affe, aber schon Mensch, Lucy bewegte sich bereits auf ihre Hinterbeine.Die Lucy von Luc Besson stellt die zukunftige Stufe der Menschheit, nutzt das Potential ihres Gehirnes um den Faktor 10 gegenüber der aktuellen Evolutionsstufe. Am Ende des Filmes trifft Lucy (die Heldin mit dem Supergehirn) Lucy (die prähistorische) und gibt ihr durch Fingerberührung den göttlichen Funken der Intelligenz ähnlich wie bei dem berühmten Gemälde von Michelangelo Die Geburt des Adams, in Anlehnung an dem Vorspann von 2001 - A space odyssey von Stanley Kübrick.Das wird im Film möglich, weil das Drehbuch der Heldin göttliche bzw. unendliche Macht verleiht:,Sie beherrscht durch die volle Ausdehnung ihrer intellektuellen Fähigkeiten Zeit, Raum, Materie und Energie dermassen uneingeschränkt, dass dagegen selbst Supermann ein armer Schlucker ist. Und dafür braucht sie gerade 12 Stunden nachdem sie eine Unmenge einer Super-Droge unfreiwillig eingenommen hat. Das klingt nett, ist aber so unverdaulich wie eine Scheibe Brot bei der armdick viel zuviel Scweineschmalz aufgetragen wurde.Noch nie erhielt einen Kinoheld soviel Macht und das auch noch in Rekordzeit. Diese Unbesiegbarkeit geht natürlich auf Kosten der Spannung weil die Gegenspieler von Lucy lediglich mit Feuerwaffen und Messer hantieren und die können schon bei soviel Übermacht einem Leid tun. Ja ! der Kampf ist von vorneherein ungleich, die bösen, starken Ganoven haben gegen die unschuldige und eigentlich zarte und freundliche Lucy nicht die Spur einer Chance.Ansonst ist auch anzumerken, daß die ganze Wirbelsäule des Drehbuches aus altbewährten Anleihen aus vergangenen Filmen Besteht. Im weswntlichen:- Schießereien aus Leon - der Profi,- verrückte Autofahrt wie in Taxi, Taxi- und die o.e. Menschen-Genesys in Anlehnung an 2001 - A space Odyssey.Das ist nicht schädlich, weil das Ganze von vorne bis hinten mit dezenten Gags und feinfühligem Humor gespickt ist und das stellt eine der Hauptkomponenten des Filmes dar. Obwohl ständig sehr viel Blut spritzt und die Hälfte der Zeit alle Darsteller halb rotgefärbt auf dem Bildschirm agieren, man fast ständig lachen bzw. zumindest schmunzeln muß.Vielleicht ist das der Grund für FSK 12 obwohl ständig gefoltert und kaltblütig erschossen wird. Im Grunde ist Lucy halb Komödie und die restlichen Hälfte teilen sich gleichmäßig Aktion und Science Fiction.Ja, es gibt viele Leichen: Das fängt mit Richard ein nach wenigen Minuten, der Junkie und zwei weiteren in der Hotel Suite in Taipeh, eine gute halbe Dutzend chinesichen Ganoven bei Lucy' s Flucht, die 3 Drogenkuriere, 6 Bodyguards bei der Befragung im Hotel, 5 Ganoven im Krankenhaus Val de Grace, und als Schlußfeuerwerk 25 Ganoven und der Chef der Bande in der Universitätsklinik.sowie ein gutes Dutzend französischen Polizisten. Macht zusammen 56 wenn ich richtig gezählt habe, alle mit effektvolle Blutspritzer und beträchtliche Leiden (wenn auch meistens sehr schnell den Löffeln abgegeben wird).Verletzte kommen auch nicht zu kurz: Allein die Autofahrt durch Paris dürfte für mindestens 2 Dutzend schwerverletzte sorgen, viele davon querschnittgelähmt. Was Gewalt angeht wird also nicht gekleckert, sondern richtig geklotzt, und zwar sogut wie ununterbrochen. Folterszenen sind ebenfalls gut verteilt. Ob das alles für die seelische Gesundheit von Kinder ab 12 unschädlich ist, sei dahingestellt..Der film als Komödie unter diesen Umständen zu bezeichnen ist von mir also sehr gewagt. Aber ich kann das belegen:- die Dialogen mit Richard- der Gesundheitsdiagnose von Lucy' s Freudin mit Rezept und Ratschläge- die Furcht um eine Bombe im Koffer in der Hotelsuite- das erste Telefonat mit dem Professor- die Szene im Flugzeug mit dem neugierigen Nachbar- alle Dialogen mit dem französischen Kommissar... etc, etc.Im Grunde genommen, sind bei allen Szenen Komiksituationen und / oder witzige Dialogen massiv eingebaut, teilweise vom Feinsten und ich muß hinzufügen, dass die Schauspieler diese optimal wiedergeben, sei es das Gesicht des kaltblütigen Gauners, der im Krankenhaus das Koffer unfreiwillig abgibt, das nicht endende Staunen des Kommissars, und natürlich die Kaltblütigkeit von Lucy in den brennzlichten Situationen, Alle bringen oscarreife Leistungen !Aber ich bin mir nicht sicher ob bei der Mehrheit der Zuschauer das genugt um den übermächtgen Präsenz der Gewalt in brutalsten Form zu üermalen oder abzumildern. Das Blut dürfte bei jungen Menschen den Haupt- wenn nicht sogar den einzigen Eindruck hinterlassen.Was die Dramatürgie betrifft, leidet der Film m.E. unter einer Verschiebung des Gleichgewichtes:- der Aufbau der Szenerie für die Dramaturgie dauert am Anfang sehr lange und belegt rd. 40 % des Filmes. Es geht dabei um die Mißbehandlung von Lucy und dem Aufbau eines Rachegefühls bei der Heldin und dem Zuschauer.- der Hauptgericht besteht in der Bestrafung der Bösen. Jetz wird zur Kasse gebeten und Aktion läuft auf vollen Touren.Aber man hat kaum Zeit es zu geniessen, weil der Film an dieser Stelle stark beschleunigt und die köstlichen Szenen blitzschnell geschnitten sind. Es gibt kaum bzw. zuwenig Zeitlupen, obwohl diese gerade dort für den vollen Genuß angebracht wären. Zum Glück kann man die DVD anhalten und wiederholen, aber im Kino geht das viel zu schnell vorbei, wie ein Grand Cru dass man gezwungen wird herunter zu schlucken ohne dass er in dem Mund sein volles Bouquet entfalten kann.Auch das Dessert, nämlich die Reise von Lucy durch Zeit und Raum am Ende des Filmes ist zwar handwerklich gut gemacht, hat aber zuviel schwergewicht gegenüber der Aktionsphase. Dadurch wird der Film insgesamt am Anfang und Ende schwerlastig, aber in der Mitte ausgedünnt. Das empfinde ich als unausgewogen. Luc Besson versucht seinem Werk ein pseudo wissenschaftliches-philosophisches Mantel in letzter Minute zu verpassen, aber über das Action-Hemd und den Komödien-Anzug ist es in dieser Form und Länge etwas zuviel des Guten, bzw. eine Nummer zu groß oder zuviel.Man wird auf drei Achsen gerissen. Nach über eine Stunde Komödie und Action wird man in der Welt des Dokumentarfilmes versetzt bis zum Urknall. Das ist nicht nur eine andere Kost, wie crême brulée in einem chinesichen Restaurant, An dieser Stelle wervandelt er eine supermenschliche Heldin in einem immateriellen göttlichem Wesen. Und das nur durch die volle Ausnutzung ihrer Gehirnpower. Das ist ein gewagtes filmisches Abenteuer, einfach zuviel und zerprengt, ja zerstört die Magie und die Unterhaltung, die durch den bisherigen und mühseligem Filmablauf aufgebaut wurde.Ich bin ein Fan von Luc Besson und habe - denke ich - alle seine Filme gesehen, ob als Regisseur oder als Produzent.Das sind m.E.Meisterwerke.. Es fehlt mir schwer Lucy einzureihen. Es ist sicherlich gut recherchiert und umgesetzt.Szenen und Dialogen sowie Schauspielerleistungen, Kameraführung, Effekte und Schnitt zeigen - wie immer - feinste Juwelierarbeit und die Hand eines Meisters, Aber hier hat er zuviel verschiedene Genres reingequetscht.Der Spagat der Stanley Kubrick in 2001 so elegant, tiefgründig und harmonisch gelugen ist, schafft er nicht.Der Träger, den er dafür benutzt um Mensch in Gott zu verwandeln, nämlich eine Superdroge, ist einfach zu dünn um eine Brücke dieser Tragweite zu bauen. Das hätte der Meister - bei allem Respekt und Bewunderung - eigentlich wissen sollen.In der Mitte, da wo die Bestrafung der Bösen den Höhepunkt bildet und dem Eigentlichen Genuß des Genres bildet, hätte der Meister mehr rausholen können.Das sind schönheitsflecken, die den Unterhaltungswert von Lucy nicht grundsätzlich beeinträchtigen. Der Film gehört mit Gravity und Interstellar zu den Höhepunkten der Saison, die man in seiner Sammlung nicht vermissen sollte.Aber den fünften Stern kann ich mit gutem Gewissen nicht vergeben.

O produto é ótimo mas é necessário deixar claro em todos dvds e blu rays as opções de audio e legendas . No nosso país está cada vez maior a opção por filmes dublados . Isso é algo comum nos Estados Unidos pois o americano médio não consegue ler , por preguiça, arrogância e na maioria dos casos por não saber mesmo. Entre nós o índice de filmes dublados deve estar próximo de 90% na televisão. De uma forma geral no site da Amazon nem sempre esses dados são encontrados . Nesse filme como a exceção que avacalha a regra estava listado legendas em francês espanhol. Eu realmente solicitei a devolução pois aqui na minha casa são perfis variados e opto sempre pelos filmes com audio original e legendas em português , dessa forma fica bem para todos. Eu não verifiquei esse dado pois de um modo geral aqui no site isso nem sempre é mencionado . Hoje mesmo comprei um dvd que sem essa informação. Outro dia não foi possivel comprar um blu ray pois fiz uma consulta ao vendedor para obter essa informação e quando recebi a informação foi tarde pois o blu ray , que era o ultimo disponivel, o que tambem não havia sido informado, havia sido vendido e segundo informação posterior do vendedor ele não dispõe de outro e não tem previsão
