Muito bom livro vake a pena ler

I should probably write the review in Portuguese, but I have read this book mostly because I also wanted to improve my Portuguese language skills. This is a good book for somebody with intermediate Portuguese language skills because a) it is extremely interesting to read, and b) the Portuguese vocabulary is within reach of an intermediate learner. I think all of Paolo Coelho's books are very helpful for learners of the Portuguese language. Paolo Coelho also has a very good multi-lingual website with many more stories. Reading good books is the key to learning the vocabulary and to improving one's grammar skills. This book and others are excellent choices for that purpose, especially if they are downloaded on a kindle. With a kindle, you can also attach a built-in dictionary at no extra charge, making it very convenient to expand your vocabulary.

I heard a lot about this book but never felt like reading, until I buy it. Amazing!!

I would say that this book is the equivalent of The Little Prince with a different scenario, but nonetheless their learnings are relatively the same. It is a good entry book to fictional classics, very easy read, quirky. I have read it over about three times in different languages and I most say, some are more enjoyable than the others. If you are able to read it on the original language it was written, Portuguese, even better as some phrases do get lost in translation.

When I began reading it in the English translation it seemed slow and un-exciting so I stopped reading it. It was not until I decided to study Portuguese as a means to pass the time while I began with a new life in a new city. I remembered this book was originally written in Brazilian Portuguese and would help me learn this new language better. I really enjoyed it because I realized I was going through my own journey my “Lenda Pessoal”. I am grateful to have stumbled upon such a fine work! I also acquired the Audiobook to hear it in Portuguese. Such a pleasing experience to listen to such a story. This is the best way to listen to it. How it was originally written :)

This book with its subtle undertones of Christianity is so much more than a simple heroes journey. It is a very easy, quick read, but has many valuable lessons to be learned throughout. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun read, as well as anyone looking to practice Portuguese.

I recommend this book for Portuguese learners as it is very easy to read and holds interest. Considering all the hype about the novel, including a session about it on the Diane Rehm show, I was very disappointed that it turned out to be a pretentious, pseudo-philosophical fable, the idea largely plagiarized from a charming short story of Jorge Luis Borges. So I don't regret reading it because I was pleased to be able to read a real novel after a year of self-study of the language. I also recommend the Kindle edition because (on the iPad, at least) when you put your finger on a word, the dictionary comes up and defines it (in Portuguese, of course, but you can handle that).

The story is amazingly well written (no surprises there), and it’s timeless. The quality of the material is impeccable.

Eu amei as figuras de linguagens do livro e achei muito interessante a visão dele sobre a vida e Deus. Amei saber que precisamos rodar o deserto para encontrar o que sempre esteve ao nosso lado.Não gostei do final, eu queria que o tesouro dele fosse a vida dedicada a Deus, que ele se tornasse um distribuidor da sabedoria que tinha encontrado.Recomendo o livro porque é de fácil leitura e é uma leitura que te prende até ao final, você tem vontade de voltar para finalizar logo a história.
