works great. this was a perfect replacement for the one my cat lost.

I bought the Collar ID Disc to complement the ID chip that my cat has implanted in him, in order to help teach him how to use his new cat door. It was hard to push him through the cat door, so I held the ID Disc in my hand to demonstrate how the cat door works. I also programmed the cat door to work with both the ID Disc and the implanted chip. (The vet would not sell or even loan me an implantable ID chip for this purpose.). The end result is that the cat is able and willing to go through the door in one direction but not the other. He’s still working on learning how to use the door in both directions. The Electronic Collar ID Disc works fine.

This product works great. I have 3 cats and they all now use the door. I practiced having them go through the door before I installed it and then I helped them go in and out on the first day. None of my cats were scared by the loud latching noise the door makes. I installed the cat door in a boarded up basement window. This was most convenient for me because I didn't have to cut into a door or a wall. The door is great cause we no longer have to try to get the cats in at night before we go to bed and the cats really enjoy being able to come and go as they please. The only problem we have is that one of our cats now uses the door to bring us home presents. He has brought home both live and dead mice. We are hoping to train him not to do this, if he keeps it up we might have to remove his collar so he won't be able to use the door.

Works but is big. Wish they were smaller so it doesn’t go in the food and water bowl.

I had asked the question if it would work with the MiBowl feeder, got one "no" and one "used for door" so I didn't think it would work. I'm very happy to tell you all that it does work, I've only had it for a day but so far so good.

I didn't like the idea of having my cats chipped at all. I thought causing them unnecessary pain was cruel so I bought fobs when I bought their cat door. They have since lost their collars, forcing me to buy new fobs: This was expected. This fobs do the job at half the cost of the PetMate fobs. I'm very happy with these.

The animal has to almost touch the door. Not a long range disc.

My cats food dish had been giving him issues with opening. Eventually it just stopped. Turns out it was just the tag. Ordered these tags and they worked! Problem is all fixed.

Utilizo el disco de ID Electrónico con la gatera de la misma marca, Pet Mate. Mi gata lo aprendió a usar a la primera, le puse un plato con comida húmeda y atravesó la gatera cuan rayo o como Pedro por su casa. Cabe decir que antes de instalar la gatera la probé en el veterinario con un microchip de los que se implantan, y la gatera no lo detectaba tan bien como este disco. Me explico, el disco lo detecta incluso cuando está en la proximidad de la gatera, sobre todo por la parte exterior de la misma que es donde está la antena del lector, con lo cual no falla nunca. Según va aproximándose la gata, la puerta ya está preparada para su acceso. En cambio, el microchip implantable no lo detecta hasta que está dentro del túnel, con lo cual es menos fiable. A pesar de lo dicho, todavía estoy pensando en ponerle el chip implantable simplemente para conseguir una doble identificación, pero antes probaré el chip y el disco a la vez no sea que se produzcan interferencias, porque el implantable una vez puesto ya no se puede quitar.
