It’s a chocolate substitute if you’re desperate like me!
This is by no means chocolate, but it’s the nearest thing I can possibly find to try and help cure my chocolate cravings now I’m suddenly unable to consume caffeine without suffering bad consequences.I can almost liken it to cooking chocolate.Also flavour wise maybe liken it to essence of fruit cake. (Plain one - yet to try mint and orange.)Not very sweet.Texture wise is not disimilar to normal chocolate, maybe a bit dryer.If I had to choose a type of chocolate it most resembles I would say dark chocolate.I think perhaps it’s either an acquired taste or you’ll love or hate it sorta thing.I will definitely try it again - but it’s not very moreish, like I wouldn’t be looking forward to it so to speak, like I wouldn’t be all like oooh I can’t wait to have my carob later, haha! But that’s probably a good thing because it’s expensive and you’d soon be bankrupt if you wanted it too much!Just give it a go!

Definitely not a replacement for chocolate as it has a very different flavour and texture.
Too soft, and rather than break into squares it just bent. It has a strange, bitter taste and cloying texture which I wasn't keen on. I cannot eat caffeine, therefore normal chocolate is impossible, but I can eat white chocolate and I will stick to that, rather than this substitute. In saying that, I do like D & D's carob powder, which makes brilliant substitute chocolate cakes.

Love the taste!
Absolutely love the taste, but unfortunately this product contains soy which I rather avoid.

Not pure carob
Disappointing to see the main ingredient is palm oil. But for the price I’m not surprised it’s not a pure or natural carob bar even though that’s its name.

Takes some getting used to but great
I recently had to give up caffeine and chocolate for health reasons but really missed having an occasional treat. I bought this to help me to go without chocolate and it definitely helped. It has a very different taste, not as sweet as chocolate, but once you get used to it it's actually rather nice. It's quite rich tasting so a few squares are enough (I definitely couldn't eat a whole bar at once).
