Excellent Resource for Mentoring Women
This book is an in depth look at the second chapter of the book of Titus regarding older women mentoring younger women. As an older woman presently mentoring a younger woman, I was eager to read this book and I was not disappointed. The major thrust of the book is to address specifically how the beauty of the gospel is demonstrated in the lives of both older and younger women and how they live that out together. The author encourages women to live out the Word of God, to live out our Christian faith so that others will not be able to accuse us of something we are not and to live in such a way that our lives reflect the inherent beauty of the message of the gospel. The book is divided into three sections: A Woman under God; A Woman under Control and a Woman under Her Roof. At the end of each of the 14 chapters there are some questions for older women and some for younger women. This makes it a wonderful resource to use as a group study or to use in a one on one mentoring situation.I received this book for free from Moody Publishers for this review but also purchased another one to pass along to a friend who is mentoring younger women.

Purity on display
This books is wonderful! It's hard to put into words how valuable this book is... let me start with the color of the book- white. As I was reading the book, I kept thinking, "I bet Nancy made the book white to stand for purity!", because that is exactly what this book does. The book doesn't just stand for purity, but it puts it on display and points us to practical ways to live out purity in our lives. I found Nancy's words so refreshing and life giving. She truly is gifted in writing, and knows how to communicate the truths she sees in the Word very well. I will recommend this book to many, and I've already started to buy and hand out this book to my Titus 2 friends.Thank you Nancy for your work! And thank you Lord Jesus for Nancy and her heart for you!

Reading this book is a beautiful experience.
Reading this book is a beautiful experience. I was tearful by the first chapter from its pure sweetness. But it is not a fake, trying-too-hard variety of beautiful. It leaves you craving more and inspiring you to follow every word she says. It is both encouraging to young and old women, faithfully addressing all ages in her chapters (Page 61) Her call to discipleship is compelling throughout the text, encouraging older women with the fact that “they (younger women) need older women to lovingly teach them what is true and good” (Page 76). There are particular messages such as her sections on modesty, drinking, submission, and slander that bring a refreshingly biblical and gentle tone to the conversation (Pages 101, 131, 264, 120). She also does well in addressing a wide variety of women, such as singles and working mothers (Pages 233, 218).This resource has a strong biblical basis, uses Scripture accurately, and is biblical in its thesis and application. Everything about this book gives “adornment” to the beauty of the gospel. “Beautiful” is the best description for this book. The entire book makes much of God and his gospel, encouraging women to reflect it and to live lives that are “noticeably different” (37). The whole book walks through, word by word, a lovely exegesis of Titus chapter two, providing a robust, biblically sound interpretation of what it looks like to live for Christ and be an example to those who know you. For example, while looking at what it means to be self-controlled, “sophron”, she writes, “But the woman with Spirit-produced, grace-enabled self-control is anything but boring. Unlike other women around her, she is not a slave to her passions and impulses. She is free to love and serve God and others, free to enjoy His greatest gifts. Her life is a winsome, compelling reflection of the goodness and loveliness of Christ.” (169). Everything about this book is rinsed in Scripture. This resource is also highly practical and easy to apply to one’s life. She includes a call to action at the end of each chapter with her specified questions addressed to younger and older women accordingly.I have already given Adorned as a gift to my mom and friends. It is one of the best books I’ve read, and I’ve read some.

I personally like the author Nancy DeMoss Wogelmuth so reading the book ...
SEP17AdornedLadies, this is a book you want to read. Titus 2:1-5 speaks to women women of all ages. Older women (there is always someone younger than you) are challenged to impact the younger women around them.I personally like the author Nancy DeMoss Wogelmuth so reading the book was a no brainer. However, I was challenged with each new chapter. Chapters like Doctrine: You and Titus 2Grow Up and Step Up, You Don't Say, A "Sophron" State of Mind......many more until A Woman Overjoyed. Each chapter presented sound Bible truths for all ladies. I would be remiss if I did not tell you that some chapters were easier to read than others but each chapter had practical questions and practical application.Whether the "younger woman" or the "older woman" we have responsibility to live "that the word of God may not be reviled". Titus 2:5bI highly recommend this book for personal reading or small group.

A Book for All Women
I downloaded it on My Kindle. Adorned, Living out the beauty of the gospel together has been written for all women—young & old. Nancy has not only given us a clear understanding of Paul’s writings in Titus 2, but she also gives us simple, easy ways to live out the beauty of the gospel together! I am more aware of ways to be intentional about being a Titus 2 Woman. Her closing words resonate with my heart: “As we live out the beauty of the gospel—younger & older women together, we will be beautiful & blessed, and, yes, overjoyed. That beauty will spill over into our homes, our churches, our workplaces and communities, and ultimately into our world.” I highly recommend this book should be in every pastor’s library or on his desk as a reference & a recommendation for women to read & for them to share with others, including husbands.

A challenging, practical, life enriching book.
An amazing, must-read for any Christian woman seeking to glorify God. I found it very challenging, actually more than that it is life changing, life enhancing, life enriching. Full of practical wisdom, based on Scripture and relevant for ladies of all ages and marital status.

I fall on the category of "older" woman. I found the beginning slow to get into. But loved the last half.
I highly recommend to all women.Nancy uses THE FIRST FEW verses of Titus 2 and explains each word or phrase from a Biblical perspective.A "Titus 2 Woman" almost replaces the common phrase, "a Proverbs 31 woman" and through this book makes a "Titus with woman" much more attainable. Each chapter has specific reflection for younger women and different reflection questions for older women.
