Dryer Vent - Thumbs Up
I was hesitant to purchase this because of previous reviews, and I don't usually submit reviews, but in this case felt it was important to provide updated information to others. This product is the same thickness aluminum found in local hardware stores. And yes, you need to use the special silver tape for HVAC venting to seal the edges, but that's the primary benefit of having a dryer vent product that is adjustable. This one in particular suited my needs because I needed a discharge pipe at the end of the tube (vice on the side). This product works as advertised and if you need the inlet and discharge holes as depicted, I recommend purchase of it. It's working as designed with my brand spanking new dryer. :-)

5 inches deep) were perfect for our application
It does it's job well. Saves me space behind my dryer where I don't have much space to give up. This (in conjunction with an LG dryer -- they are the only brand that I know of which makes dryers only 27.5 inches deep) were perfect for our application. Other have commented that this thing leaks a lot of air. Perhaps they weren't intended using some foil duct tape on the seams. With a few sheet metal screws to hold it in the right location and then taping all the seams, it's great. In my opinion, it's not at all unreasonable to have to tape the seams -- that's completely normal when working with metal ducting.

poor construction abounds
Don't even think about buying this productFirst, it is made from the lightest gauge aluminum with exception of the 90 elbow. Second, poor construction abounds. There are up to 1/4" gaps in the junction between the main body and round duct adapter. This adapter is pop riveted together with slightly heavier gauge metal, some of which appears to have been hacksawed to make it fit. There are visible gaps in the corners. It will leak and blow dryer dust unless you seal the gaps. The coupling collar attaching to the dryer is too short to clamp properly. A much heavier gauge, better product is available from Everbilt at Home Depot. I didn't install this procuct

Just so-so
$30 bucks for about $3.00 worth of tin and another $10 bucks on tin foil tape to fix all the air gaps. The product is VERY poorly made, but can be fixed rather easily. Every seam, and I mean EVERY seam, must be taped! I had to buy two just to use the other end so I could extend it to the proper length I needed to clear the washing machine. I ran the venting horizontally to the outside wall vent. I needed at least 45 inches to clear. The taper would cause an issue because it would have required about 5" of space from the back wall. Thereby, limiting the effective length to about 40". The way I did it required only 2 1/8" inches of space behind both the dryer and washer. If I just used one piece it would have required about 5" of space between the wall and the machines because of the taper transition. Bottom-line, the product can work if fixed. I would say the materials and manufacturing is worth about $10-$15 bucks.

Product NOT as shown. Cheap and flimsy material. Wide gaps in the joints.
The picture is NOT what you will receive. What I received was flimsy and the square riser piece was in two sections (not a solid piece like their picture shows). The two sections are needed to allow for telescoping adjustments to make it fit to length but the joints between the two sections come a long way from a tight fit. 1/2 inch tolerance in my estimation. Mine was also damaged (no fault of manufacturing) bent around the end of the round section that fits over dryer exit pipe and the rising part was dented and crimped in one place. Had I been able to see and handle this item before purchasing I would have never made the buy. This is very thin and flimsy material. Not worth the $30 in my opinion. Not worth a PIA return either. I will likely install this but I am not pleased. I will have to bend and manipulate and seriously wrap this thing with aluminum duct tape. Spend your money elsewhere this is not worth the price.

Helped get back 4 inches of lost space
As other reviews have stated, it is a little on the flimsy side with a number of small spots for air to blow out, but a bit of aluminum tape fixed that just fine (you should probably be doing this anyway to prevent air leaks). At 2 1/8 inches wide, it is less than half as wide as vent hose (but at 6 inches tall has about the same volume for airflow) and allowed me to get back 4 inches of space in front of the dryer!

Terrible quality but useful and a time saver for DIY with limited tools. I would purchase again.
As others have commented, the quality is not great. It suggests manufacture in a 3rd world country by workers provided with very poor quality tools, insufficient traing in how to use them and no knowledge of the intended purpose for the vent; HOWEVER, I would buy it again and have purchased several versions over the past ten years.Make sure you also have heat rated foil tape handy (not standard fabric duct tape) and I'd suggest the mid sized roll, not the small one. You will be using more of it than you might think based on the distance around the obvious joints. You will want it heat rated because it will come in DIRECT contact with the hot air from the dryer and that can be hot enough to get some standard tapes to catch fire. The quality is poor, no question, but for a DIYer this is a useful piece and will save you hours trying to fabricate something by bending sheet or round ducts around a makeshift wooden frame to come up with a long rectangular 6" x 2" vent with a taped seam down its length. It can be made quite servicable and dust tight with a bit of work and liberal use of the duct tape.

with a little modification, it worked pefectly
As other reviewers stated, fit between parts is a little loose, but if you are handy with tools, you can make something usable out of it. There are three pieces; first attaches to dryer and that piece is of pretty nice quality. second piece is extender which i did not use. third piece is rectangular to round transition which fits loosely to rectangular piece, but i drilled out a couple rivets and tightened things up and re-riveted, and also riveted both pieces together, then wrapped in duct tape. looks decent and gained 2".
